Small but Slow

The hit(s) on Rocco were hard, clean, and just a part of the game.  Pretty sure the training staff evaluated him thoroughly and were not going to allow him to return if any risk existed.  No game is worth the permanent damage that could be suffered.  If he was suffering from concussion symptoms his performance wouldn't have been productive anyhow.  I played with head injuries several times in hs myself and even as a lineman my play suffered and I put teammates at risk, as well as my own well being.
Mount's defense was the difference today.  Shorts saved the day offensively when Seaman struggled.  Perhaps Seaman will perform better next week after preparing with the first team.  Either way LK and Coach Bruney will have a game plan ready for WW.  Can't guarantee it will be as productive without Rocco, but once again, those are the breaks

Just got back, and what a game today!  Mount showed a talented, determined defense and an offense that rose from diversity and asserted itself through the sheer force of will. This was not Mount Union Football at its prettiest, but it was Mount Union Football at its finest.   No matter what happens next week, these guys are champions in my book.

Well stated!   +k for the comment.  Injuries are a part of the sport, and how the team responds is what matters.  If MU can overcome the adversity and win next Saturday this championship will have a special meaning to all involved.

Congratulations to the Purple Raiders and Warhawks on again climbing to the top of the mountain and I am again reminded of why I love playoff football. I hope Rocco is ok and certainly prayers to him and his family, has to be tough with such a huge game ahead, but a lifetime beyond it to make sure he is healthy for.

Wish I could join all of you in Salem, but will be watching from the comforts of home with Pammy and her 5-2-5 Defensive schemes.. :-\

Did it seem to anyone else that Wesley had a somewhat hard time defending the runs outside? Seemed as though Lemmon and of course Shorts could have done a lot of damage running outside on end arounds and the like. Mouring is more a guy to pound up the middle.

Wasn't too many fans sitting on their hands today!

I look forward to seeing our OAC board buddies in Salem again next weekend!  Kirasdad, myself, and a young ward will make the 15 hour trek to VA to see how this thing ends.

should we expect any info from kehres regarding rocco's health or why millings wasnt playing, or should it just be a standard answer as to not tip his hand

THUMP
If Rocco doesn't get speared, they score 40+.

Classic Kehres - Whatever it takes

Thank you Wesley Special Teams for your many gifts
Oh please. Just when you get a little adversity, you cry afoul. Benson knocked his socks off as clean as two guys going in the exact opposite direction could.

Did I cry foul? Just stating what I saw from about 40 feet away and that if he had played the rest of the game I don't think it would have been as close. Oh please  ;D

NOPE.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I was thinking about that earlier today.  MUC get's to play against one of (if not the) the top defenses in the Nation every day in practice.  I bet it would be super entertaining to watch MUC's 1s vs. 1s and I wonder how much it happens in practice.  Even MUC's 1s vs. 2s is probably pretty darn good.

Whenever I hear "MUC hasn't seen a Defense like _ _ _ _ _" it makes me chuckle.  By the time it is Game Day, MUC Offense is probably better prepared to face anyone elses D in the Nation.

McSweeny ain't no Tim Tebow!

That's what I thought when their coach made that comparison in the post game. Tebow?? Maybe Bob Tebow

He actually looked faster than Tebow, not just the bruiser.
