D-drag.....MUCH better!  Karma all the way!   ;)

seventiesraider

No prob here Drag. For better or worse the officials decided to "let 'em play." That was just one of many plays that could have drawn a flag from another batch of officials. With everything we do protect kids these days, I thought a pair of helmet to helmet shots to the QB was kinda obvious. But that's my purple glasses again

Hey Pat!
Was there a winner on the Stagg Bowl ticket contest? I haven't seen anything on the home page, but then again its plastered with purple this time of year and i could have overlooked it!  ;D

I am assuming that MUC is the visiting team this year.  Anyone have confirmation on that?

Where is everyone planning on sitting?

I believe that to be true.

Or not nominated?

Thanks for clearing it up, Pat.  I am very surprised, but at least I have an answer.

MUC is the visitor.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Mount is the "visiting" team at the Stagg.....

If there was ever a chance for Wesley to win, it was Saturday:

--#1 tailback out for playoffs with knee injury.

--One of the top defensive players (Millings) finds out that he isn't going to play on THURSDAY.  Adjustments need to be made in one practice....Williamson to DE, Ligget/Saum/Lambert to split time at DT.

--Top-rated QB in D-III goes out with head injury in second quarter and does not return.  Freshman backup becomes aware that it's National Semi's and not Wilmington (no disrespect, he will be a good one).  Need to go with 3rd choice at QB.

--Weather is NOT an issue.  Sunny, with mid-30's (practically balmy)

--MUC still wins by 17....not sure that Wesley scores the touchdown without the coverage mix-up on the zone blitz (50-yd pass)

Don't count on Millings playing in the Stagg.  His issue is not with Mount Union, and he's not listed on the 2-deep.

Rocco has had some issues with seizure disorders as well (as mentioned, it might be in the water) related to epilepsy.  I'm sure the concussion complicated that situation.  Give Kehres a LOT of credit for not putting Rocco back in the game, especially when it became 10-7.  He truly had the best interest of the kid in mind.  Rocco was pleading his case, to no avail.

I know that Millings is a great player.  However, I like Williamson at DE vs. UWW.  Last year, they ran right at our DE's with success.  Matt gives you more size/strength at that position.  When you have extremely athletic DE's, you can have success by running straight at them (off-tackle) to negate their upfield speed.

It was fun to watch "a game" on Saturday!

Acording to the D3 site, UWW was listed " at Mount Union" for the Stagg, could this be incorrect since everyone say Mount is the visitor?

Joe Millings is not even on the Mount roster (per Stagg games notes).
Whatever happened is unfortunate, since he had a great senior year!

I assume that no one will know K. Rocco's playing status until game time.

One other quick observation....

It will be a more efficient offense at the Stagg IF Cecil is to be the QB than we witnessed on Saturday.  A full week of practice, different game plan, LK, etc.  This is a lot different than putting Cecil at QB in the 3rd quarter of a game in progress.  I'm guessing that he didn't get too many snaps with the 1st Offense this past week....outside of the "wildcat" (which is, in essence, about 2-3 plays).  We need to get the ball in the hands of our best athletes (receivers).  With a week of practice, Cecil will throw the ball.

When we purchased tickets after the game on Saturday, we were told seating was on the "visitor side".

Being a senior (and perhaps a 5th-year senior?), Millings should have known better....

Wonder if practice will be "closed" this week prior to departure on Wednesday?  You would get a better indication of Rocco's status.

Perhaps because of MUC's frequent appearances, it just feels like a "home game"??

I just got off the phone with the box office in Salem.  We are definitely on the visitor side.

I would be very surprised if Rocco doesn't play.  Enough said....... ;)
