I am assuming that MUC is the visiting team this year.  Anyone have confirmation on that?

Where is everyone planning on sitting?

I'll be sitting in front of my new 50" enjoying the Stagg Bowl from Arizona.   ;D

i have good news for you...no pam ward this year for the ESPN2 coverage

skunks_sidekick

PS!  I saw that on the Stagg site....who ARE these two doing the game?

I guess no Pam Ward CAN'T be all bad.......

The Wesley game, especially, and the Leslie game provide a feast for thought.  III was a magician running with the ball from the shotgun; although I'm weary of all the wildcat talk.  He played QB from the shotgun and ran the ball - terrifically - geesh.  He ran, untouched, through a line w/o a hole several times.  It was magic.  However, if I coach the praiders next week, III/Seaman will run a real wildcat, even if Rocco plays much of the game.  Imagine, two QBs that can pass and run on the field together.  There was nothing wrong with Seaman, contrary to what many have said, it was the lack of confidence shown in him by the Mount OC's play calling for him.  Ironically, that lead to an exciting and exhilarating performance by Cecil while showing UWW what may be in store.  Thus, my strategy for the Stagg is a dose of Cecil, a dash of Shorts/Seaman and adding Rocco to taste and to fill the bowl with a tossed salad aerial attack.

Looked like Seaman wasn't setting his feet properly and wasn't getting his shoulders square when he did attempt a couple of passes.  Ball was flying on him and he wasn't very accurate.  Not blaming him, just observation.

MUC vs Wesley,

I invoked the 48 hour rule before I would post on here my thoughts from the game. I can say Wesley traveled much better than Albright the stands were just about packed on the visitors side with MUC and Wesley fans.

Wesley,
They had the size and speed I to match up with Mount Union. Their entire offensive line was over 6 ft tall and averages 279 lbs according to Wesley's roster sheet. Their corners were 5-8 and 6-2 and were quick and when the QB thought there was an open receiver he was quickly covered.  The QB for Wesley can sling it around and made some plays on his feet. However, the run game was non existent and Mount had pressure all game on the QB.

MUC,
Size was similar but Mount had the more talented, athletic, prepared, and better coached players. Mount did not turn the ball over as much as they did with Albright. They limited mistakes and continued to force turnovers and capitalize on them. Unfortenate the QB was hurt in the fashion he was. I agree it was a late hit.

Give wesley credit for coming in fighting and being well traveled with their fans. Great team that shoudl be good in years to come with the amount of JR's coming back next year.

I dont think MUC will win by 17 but I'll say MUC beats UWW by 10.
Final prediction to come later this week!

Considering what he did to us last year I'm not sure but what I'd rather see Shorts at quarterback than wide out.  Either way, wherever he plays. he's a player that you have to game plan for.  Not knowing whether he'd be at quarterback, wide out or both just makes that much more preparation necessary.  The uncertainty will tie up more practice time.

Mount is the "visiting" team at the Stagg.....

If there was ever a chance for Wesley to win, it was Saturday:

--#1 tailback out for playoffs with knee injury.

--One of the top defensive players (Millings) finds out that he isn't going to play on THURSDAY.  Adjustments need to be made in one practice....Williamson to DE, Ligget/Saum/Lambert to split time at DT.

--Top-rated QB in D-III goes out with head injury in second quarter and does not return.  Freshman backup becomes aware that it's National Semi's and not Wilmington (no disrespect, he will be a good one).  Need to go with 3rd choice at QB.

--Weather is NOT an issue.  Sunny, with mid-30's (practically balmy)

--MUC still wins by 17....not sure that Wesley scores the touchdown without the coverage mix-up on the zone blitz (50-yd pass)

Don't count on Millings playing in the Stagg.  His issue is not with Mount Union, and he's not listed on the 2-deep.

Rocco has had some issues with seizure disorders as well (as mentioned, it might be in the water) related to epilepsy.  I'm sure the concussion complicated that situation.  Give Kehres a LOT of credit for not putting Rocco back in the game, especially when it became 10-7.  He truly had the best interest of the kid in mind.  Rocco was pleading his case, to no avail.

I know that Millings is a great player.  However, I like Williamson at DE vs. UWW.  Last year, they ran right at our DE's with success.  Matt gives you more size/strength at that position.  When you have extremely athletic DE's, you can have success by running straight at them (off-tackle) to negate their upfield speed.

It was fun to watch "a game" on Saturday!

I will tell you right now... that if Rocco is having problems with seizure or epilepsy or whatever, he'll be out.   I had a grade 3 concussion in 1999 with a little seizure when I "came to"... and I never was allowed to play another down of football.

formerd3db was there as the other team's doctor, though I don't think he knows what the prognosis was for the rest of the season.  But the doctors at TMC didn't mess around with it.  And neither will MUC if the seizure thing is anywhere close to being true..

MUC knows that the Warhawks know that Shorts can run the ball as QB. As MUC, I would want to use what UWW knows against UWW (you know what I am saying?). So, I would come out with Shorts passing every down. However, now that UWW knows what I know, they should be fully prepared for Shorts to come out slinging the ball!  :D

Let's see if WW is ready for the "Shorts to Shorts" pass!   ;D

I bet he used to practice that in the backyard.

Early line is WW is a HEAVY favorite.  Sigh.......we are doomed......

Wow -- glad someone else beat me to it because the previous statement was way off based on the game I watched yesterday morning on my DVR.

Seaman looked like a deer in headllights, and LK was NOT going to risk the ball in his hands when he repeatedly showed he hadn't adjusted to being in the semi-final.  I think the kid is a great athlete, and if he gets in the game this week I have every reason to think he will be more prepared (mentally) to handle it.

I look for Mount to employ the third down "quick kick" strategy.  Maybe we can keep the score down....... :(

deal!!! Especially since they way Whitewater has been giving up first downs on third and long against Linfield...very frustrating.
