With a name like Lambert Budzinski, he has to be a tough defensive player. We may find out just how good some of these young backups are.

wesleydad

obviously many of these posters don't pay attention to what might get a player to disappear from a roster in the middle of the playoffs without an injury and someone mentioned that it was not an issue with the school.  No matter, from what I saw the replacement spent enough time in th Wesley backfield that if he had changed shirts he could have been our fullback, then maybe coach would have kept him in to block on passing plays.

from what I saw Saturday, as long as the Mount defense plays like they did, this WILL be a close football game.  If you add the chance that Shorts is the QB and he gets some reps throwing the ball then UWWW will have plenty to worry about on defense.

expecting a great tailgate and a very good football game, may even cheer for mount this year since they seem to be the decided underdog and besides, no one from UWWW has offered to buy me breakfast.  As you can see my allegiance is easily bought by good food and even easier by good brew.  if skunkssidekick shows up with anything like the XMAS ale of years past, UWWW folks have a tough task to beat.

I'm sure John Wesley would encourage you to support the Methodists, beer or not.  ;D

I don't think any of us (especially myself) are in a position to expound on Millings situation. As with many others, I have heard rumors which may be fact but at this stage are just rumors. It's safe to say the Raiders will move on without Millings and we should as well and simply go with a "violation of team rules" and let it go at that.

It's just a sad way to end one's college career missing the national semi-finals and then the Stagg Bowl. Hopefully Rocco will be able to play. It would be tough to see his career end on Saturday without the opportunity to try and finish the job.

Given the loss of such key players and the corresponding position changes, Williamson, C-Shorts, ect, Saturday was one of LK's best coaching jobs. He will need another gem to prevail in the Stagg but I have a great amount of faith in this class of seniors and LK's ability to get the job done despite the adversity. Every Stagg Bowl with UWW has been close and competitive and I expect nothing different this Saturday.

Well Wesleydad, you know i gave you that invite to come have breakfast in Salem next week when i saw you saturday, BEFORE the game  ;D but i knew you were expecting to invite me! :D I think we all drank up this year's stock of Christmas Ale last friday night unless Skunk's sidekick pulls out his secret stash. ;)

mtfan, if i recall, were you the folks that had the biscuits and gravy going last year, if so i will be there gladly, nothing much goes better with a good hoppy beer then eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy.  the overall atmosphere at the stagg is so much fun that we look forward to it every year now, with or without wesley.  had we won, you would have certainly been invited for breakfast, not sure what we would have come up with but, beer and danish may have been the offering.

Ya think Judd Lutz could go both ways. Looking for a crushing FB to go with Shorts and Morring.

YOu got it, see ya there! Biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, and fixins.  Just need Mother nature to cooperate in more ways than one! But looking for a great time!  and yes you can bring that hollowed-legged QB son of yours too, i don't know what you feed him but man i can understand why college room and board can make you go broke! :o

Deja vu ... can anyone say "Roy Hampton".

For you new fans, he was D3's top-rated QB who was supposed to provide MUC a major test in the 2002 Stagg Bowl for Trinity.  But he celebrated too hard on the River Walk and was suspended for the game.  MUC won 48-7 and Roy's brilliant career ended prematurely.

Not sure what Millings did, but it is equally as sad that he isn't on the field.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Small but Slow

As a fan or coach you never want to go into a game missing key players, but if it happens its nice to have at least one aspect of the game to lean on.  Last week Mount leaned heavily on the defensive front.  It's a shame to have seniors missing the final game of their careers, no matter what the reason.  Hope their young backups are up for the challenge.

NCAA site still counting down for a 2:00PM kickoff. They really care about D3. And don't miss the tailgate party from 10:00 to 2:00. "Behind the Blue Disk" it's all about the big money.

PS Wesleydad - I think MtFan meant to invite you for lunch.  ;D

I am still around. Where am I missing from? After the game I was in the press box and had to go over to the campus center for a few minutes before I went  to the Hood. Hope to make the trip to Salem working with Skunk and Sidekick on those plans.  ;)

Go Raiders!
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

09 Polar Bear

greetings from Mexico City fellow board members!!! ;D

I havent been able to keep up on the latest run downs on what everyone thinks about the rematch and how it will turnout.....unfortunately I'm going to miss the game because we'll be playing at the same time (I've waited a long time to say that, although this isn't the way I had imagined it!)

Someone please bring me up to speed on what they think need to happen for either team to be successful. Thanks.
