Checking in from sunny Roanoke!  Never in my life have I  been so glad to skip a lunch.  We left Alliance at 8:00 AM on Friday morning and stopped in WV for gas around 12:30 or so.  Ran into a few MUC fans on our way out  and BS'd for a minute or two.  Thought about staying to eat, but eveyone couldn't decide what or where so we hit the road.   Which was a great decision!

We had clear sailing into Roanoke and arrived at 2:30.  The guys that didn't leave the rest stop in WV until 20 behind us got stuck in the I-81 mess and didn't arrive until around 6:30 or later.  Yikes.  20 minutes delay turned into 4 hours.

On the Stagg location thing, I love the job the Salem folks do with the fame, but it's about 50/50 on the weather affecting the game (usually wind).  Now add in 18" snow and it's crazy.   I realize the game is played in the elements but freezing rain or 30 mph winds or a blizzard whouldn't be part of the equation.  The 2 best teams in the nation should be able to play straight up and not have the game's outcome adversely affected by the weather.  Just my 2 cents.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

This is the 1st Stagg bowl I have missed. The wife and I were going to head out Friday morning but needed to be back Saturday night. After seeing the weather forecast on Thursday night we knew we could never make it back in time. So we had to cancel our reservations. I'm staring at my 4 Stagg Bowl tickets and its killing me. I really miss being there. :'( :'( :'(

To all who braved the storm bring back a winner and please be safe.

My Direct TV switched my package and removed ESPN classic a few months ago. Does any know who around Alliance will be carrying the game? Will the college have it available to the public?

Once again safe travels (please be careful) and GO MOUNT!!!!!!!

It's so nice we get to play this national championship game down here in the warm, wonderful SOUTH!   ::)

Any domed stadiums (other than the Colts' digs) in Indiana?  Chicago?

As we were stuck on the road yesterday (one of the many times) we decided the new venue should be in the ATL.  Many flights into the airport (even though I hate it), much warmer, and still within driving distance for most Midwest, East, South region teams.

Thoughts?

The good folks in Salem made a successful bid to host the DIII championships and are terrific hosts.  They should not lose the gig because of something Mother Nature does.

Check www.muc.edu.  I think that Wing Warehouse will have the game on.

It hasn't been updated with the new kickoff time but you might try channelsurfing.net.  You just find your game, click the link and watch the tv channel on your computer.  I was just told about it at school a couple weeks ago and now I pretty much have sportscenter rolling on my laptop during the entire workday.

And to the UWW fans ... please be careful ...

I know that you can [1] handle mosquitoes so large that they have to submit flight plans and [2] drive in weather that would make Eskimos turn back, but remember ...

YOU are in Virginia.

These people can't drive in anything wet or white.

These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Take care, eh!

+k for the "Blazing Saddles" reference. Good luck to the Raiders today, and safe travel to all the fans who braved the weather to get there.

Heck, if I hadn't slept in I could have driven down this morning. Yeah right. I really happy they pushed it back so I can watch it like a normal football game. Wonder what I'm recording on ESPN2 right now

I just had to add sports entertainment package so I can get "espn classic" on my comcast cable.  It's not HD, but at least I'll see the game at 4:00 PM EST

Have you checked with Tailgaters to see if they have ESPN Classic?

I just realized, I don't think we ever had a Heidelberg poster before. Rumor has it I'm getting an Orange hoodie for Xmas (Thank God it isn't Wilmington, although the green stuff would go better with my Mogadore stuff) Green, Purple and Orange. I'll try to keep my closet door shut.
