Word around the prestagg tailgate is that the Fr QB from FL may be the next great one.  Also #80 who played MLB and DL yesterday is a Fr also.  Mount will reload and be back.  If they can reload after losing Micheli and Kmic then they can do it again.

Right, what's up w #80? he was impressive but when I went to the roster on MUC's site there isn't even a #80 listed? The defensive player in the grassy knoll?

raiderpa

He's listed on MUC's freshman roster.  I don't know the story about his baseball career though.

Question for MUC guys: What happened to Anthony Urbania?  Didn't we hear he was a big get for MUC this preseason?  I don't see any mention of him anywhere.  Anyone have the story?

Good game for the DIII guys involved today in KC.  Trusnik makes 3 tackles and has a pass defended.  Studebaker fell on a fumble in the end zone and got himself a TD.

Results and final standings for the OAC Playoff Pick-Em's has been posted.

Congrats to Bashbrother for holding Redstorm and Smedindy off by the slimmest of margins.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Excuse me, oh giver of negative Karma , for expressing my opinion about Neal Seaman and Kurt Rocco.

RC,

Not that great of a day for D III. Stuedabaker also couldnt behave himself and cost him team an extra 15 yard personal foul penalty. Extra curricular activity after the whistle was blown.

Great game that we all watched live on TV yesterday and it was a bit of a downer to not have the game on HD. Great display of talent for Div III to the rest of the football Nation.  It seems like a MUC II dynasty is trying to be built in Whitewater, WI. All the players in their TV interviews that were shown on ESPN discussed building a dynasty and being the next MUC. The Warhawks outplayed MUC. When I think about the game and review the stats a few glaring points can be made.

1. I said this weeks ago and it was apperant all sesaon with MUC. THe lack of a Running game. MUC had a net 88 yards rushing and it was a glaring weakness that the Warhawks defense was able to focus on trying to stop Rocco and the passing game. Warhawks had 144 yards running and were able to run for most of the day and break the big runs when needed. Coppage what a stud this kid is going to be, 22 rushes 119 yards and 3 TD's. Overal 5.0 yards per rush for UWW vs MUC's 2.9. Our coach used to always say 4 yards on first down keeps the defense off balance.
2. 5 sacks of Rocco vs none on Donovan.
3. 5 fumbles by MUC and 3 lost. 1 interception of Rocco/2 fumbles by UWW none lost however. and No interceptions thrown by Donovan. In the game against Albright when MUC had 3 turnovers in the first quarter, it might have been 4. I stated weeks ago they cant play like that against the best teams in the country and get away with it.

Overall, UWW took care of the football, protected their QB, Ran when they needed to, and a hot first quarter start was the key difference in the final score. For those of you who were commenting on the field goal attempt late in the game to seal the victory for UWW. I loved the confidence Leipold had in his senior kicker and all time leading Div 3 NCAA scorer for a kicker. After missing the first field goal attempt just wide right, and having him come in to end his career on a high point. The field goal was a chip shot.  Even with a cross wind a Senior needs to consider the adjustment in his kick and make it.

How does Shorts and this other MUC player have an extra year of eligibility? If Shorts is a sure draft pick he won't risk injury in 2010 to come back and try to get another national championship. Shorts showed scouts on Saturday that he is a big threat. 10 receptions 185 yards and 2 TD's. He could not be stopped and I believe he caught every pass attempt that came his way. Scouts had to love his speed, agility, hands, concentration, and football intelligence. Money is a powerful tool and if he has gurantees waiting for him even if he is a late 4,5,6 round draft pick, it will be very hard for him to pass up.

Donovan did throw an interception and Mount turned the possession into 7 points.

Shorts had an ankle injury his Fr. year that he can apply to the NCAA for a Medical Hardship Waiver.  If he is a for sure draft pick, I'm sure he'll pass up another season at MUC.  How many "FOR SURE" draft picks are there in DIII though?  Before the last 5 years or so there really weren't any DIII draft picks (I know there were some, but few and far between).   Shorts may decide that he doesn't want to end his college career this way and wants to come back and attempt to finish it with another champioinship.

I think he's a for sure draft pick...he should enter the draft  ;)
