I have heard that Kyle Miller could return for 2010. Did he miss some time
due to injury a few years ago?

Urban Meyer is stepping down from UF.  I heard that Kehres is on the short list...

You got a glitch in your calendar?  Today is December 26, not April 1! ;D

I responded to Kirasdad before seeing that news - I thought he was JUST pulling our legs!  Actually, a swap of jobs by Kehres and Meyer might be a win-win. :D

UF gets an even more successful coach; Urban gets a less stressful job (Raiders fans seem a bit less 'out-there' than Gators fans, though we haven't seen them if the wins become less numerous!). ;)

I hadn't realized that Urban Meyer was such a 'kid' - geez, I've got a couple of sweatshirts older than him!  While I'm no particular fan of his, it is a shame to see someone so young not have the chance to join the 'immortals' of the profession.

And a couple of one-liners just as old ... :)

Although I am not a fan of Florida, Coach Meyer is a great coach and I wish
him well as he addresses his health concerns. The toll on a Top D1 program
is tremendous, but your health is most important.

Coach Kehres could have coached D1 many years ago, but for a variety of reasons, he chose to stay at Mount. He knows many of these top coaches
and knows what they go through.

Like Mr. Ypsi and Raider68, I am not a fan of Florida nor Urban Meyer particularly.  No one can discount the tremendous coaching job he has done and in helping some players with other aspects aside from football (although he is not without his faults just like the rest of us/anyone).  Yet, without question, one's health as well as the importance of their family (and faith) all of which Meyer has mentioned in his stepping down are more important than "the game".  I join with all of you and the others everywhere who wish him all the best in his health and these other issues.  For sure, it was a difficult decision, although in another sense it wasn't.

I also agree with Raider68 and many others.  While some coaches like Kehres could certainly coach at the DI level, he and they have chosen to remain at DIII for all the right reasons - again, there are just some aspects more important than "the game" in and of itself.  Recently retired Ray Smith, who coached and was AD at Hope College and who played at UCLA and then in the Canadian Football League, could have returned to DI on several occasions, having been offered some major job opportunities (and the salaries that go with such offers).  However, like Kehres, he chose to remain in DIII for the remainder of his career and as he said at his retirement honors celebrations, he never regretted that decison and thank God (for many of us too) he didn't. :)  You guys from Mount with regard to Kehres know what I'm talking about anyway.

It will, I'm sure, be interesting to see who ends up with the Florida job.  A lot of names being thrown around already.  If any one of the guys who left Meyer's staff last year or this year leaves their recent new jobs to come back to Florida if they are offered the job, I will be somewhat shocked, but then again, in this big coaching business and politics (especially at that level), I wouldn't be.  Aside from all of us here, everyone in the sportscasting buisness (including the pundits) will have an opinion regarding the process, rumor mill and "this". ::) ;)

Lambert Budzinski and Sam Guerrero are also names that have been mentioned as having a year eligibility left.  I have no idea how reliable these rumors may be...
