I think there are other wr's as good or better than claycomb.

One thing to consider about the KY kid....and this is pure conjecture.....

He played on a team that had something like 23 kids on the roster.  He told me they were the smallest team (roster or enrollment...I can't quite remember) playing football in Kentucky.  Even though Cornell isn't HUGE, there could be a comfort level for the young man with the size of Mount.

If they are they have everyday in practice to prove it, only the best play.

Also, the Ivy League can't give scholarsips except based upon need. If he could qualify for the Presidental Award at MUC the price would be a major difference.

Good point RF......

On his bio it lists his GPA as a 4.0...and an ACT of 30.

That might be enough.......depends on his classes, etc.....and how bad we want him, maybe?   ;D

I was told by a mount student yesterday that Cecil announced on his facebook page that he was coming back, said he was tired of answering the question so wanted to put it to rest...

That is great news!!

Here another question to think about in the coming months, since there will be alot of discussion on these boards on this topic.

What team is ranked No. 1 for the preseason for 2010, will it be UWW or Mount Union?

- things to consider, Cecil returns for Mount, and  Mount will have a  potential QB who learned the system as a back-up.

- UWW needs to replace their QB and Coppage returns, the UWW defense
has many holes to fill like the Raiders do as well

The pols put MUC #1 this year, even though they lost All-World QB and RB.  Based on what was lost, I thought UWW should have been #1.  [like it mattered!]

IMHO ... UWW is #1 next year until they show me that they are not!

May this year be better than the last!

RC,

I hope they look at Wells for this now that your old coach is leaving.  Sounds like he has a chance based on keeping things the same with the character program at Hamilton HS.

Mount will be #1...UWW will be #2...same old, same old. It doesn't matter which team lost the most (i.e. last season Mount lost the two best players in the nation and was still was preason #1), and it doesn't matter who won the national title the previous season (i.e. the begining of the 2008 season after UWW won it in 2007).

02 Warhawk,

Agree!

Going into 2009, many here at the OAC thought UWW should be preseason
#1, since they had more starters returning and Mount lost Micheli and Kmic.

Others thought that if you win the National Title, then you are #1 until another team beats you.

In 2010, it is similiar but not quite that same, with two of the top players Shorts, Coppage returning and holes to fill on both sides.

Since UWW won the title they are #1 until another team beats them.

A key for Mount is how many more eligible players return, tight end
a top offensive and defensive lineman.

So again like 2009, it is a toss-up!!
