In a short blurb in the Cleveland Plain Dealer there were two players that have stated their intention to play at Mount. They are both from Mentor High. Their names are Dan Cowdrick and Sam Mayse. I don't know anything about them at this point but I would expect to see something from Lennie in the near future on some players he may have knowledge of.  ;)

I think it would be a win-win for me and CAP if you guys hired Joe Germaine.  I'll try to get the ball moving.

Strangely, all the kids I've know around here that chose an Ashland, Malone, Walsh or even Findlay were more impressed with their chances to play as Soph's. Sadly after a freshman year playing JV, most of them are at Akron or Kent with their dreams dashed. The promises are big, but the reality is swift. I just hope that the rumors about Wooster trying to go D2 are bull.

D3 players have Mom and Dad sign a deposit check. I just mailed my daughter's to The Berg
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Small but Slow

Most of the kids I've coached who have gone to the "up and coming" FBC or D2 schools had their dreams squashed early by JUCO or FBC transfers and left the school after less than a year.  Many hs coaches oversell their abilities.  Most of these kids have lower level D3 talent but more important, little work ethic.  Some have asked me about going to Mount, and I tell them the truth.  I then redirect them to Musky, Marietta, or other schools where they can get a good education and possibly play some ball.  Talent is not enough to succeed at a top level D3 school.

70's, Where to you get your info? I've never heard of Woo's desire to move to DII.

DR - Thanks for sharing.  I hope the students at Edison High realize that PG didn't just make it because he is Haitian.  From what I've read the past couple weeks Pierre worked his tail off from his sophomore year in high school in the classroom and on the field and weight room.  PG gives hope but only for those who are willing to work to earn his or her success.

Theres a pretty solid MLB coming from Ocala, Florida. He played at Trinity Catholic High School. Pretty solid player. Big Kid. Fills the gap pretty good.
