Anyone notice that Alliance's Len Dawson delivered the Super Bowl trophy to the trophy presentation stage after the game.   Due to the Purdue connection with Brees, Dawson was probably one of the few Alliance people not pulling for the Colts with the Garcon/Mount connection.   Besides Garcon, Fletcher and Dawson, I wonder how many players have played in the Super Bowl and also played games at Mount Union stadium.   For some reason, I can only think of Paul Warfield, but with Massillon, Canton McKinley, Warren Harding, etc. playing at Mount every other year up until the 90's, there are probably quite a few  that were on Super Bowl rosters over the years.

Nice article in today's Canton Repository on P. Garcon. It talks about his willingness to block in the Superbowl besides catching passes. :)

Since he's doing his part to finish his degree, Garcon has the chance to be not just the first MUC player to catch a TD pass but also the first UMU graduate to play in the league.   ;D

More importantly, I have been staying awake at night wondering what happens to MUCAW.....is it UMUAW, UMUCAW, MUUCAW, MUUAW??........oh, the pain.

Mount has something Texas, Alabama and Auburn don't have: An alumni with a SuperBowl TD.

Alumnus.

Actually upon further review: Pierre has a couple of classes left, so we're both wrong: student

I still think the administration missed a golden opportunity to renew the Wooster-Mount Union football contest under the rebrand of MUU-COW.  They could have parachuted in the Chik-Fil-A cows for even more celebration over the game.

According to the official news release the name will go from MUCaw to MUcaw.   Seems like a pretty lame change to me.

stoonk,

Good post,

The turning points were:

1. The inability of Indy defense in the second qtr.
2. The onside kick at the beginning of the 3rd
3. The inability to cover NO receivers/no pass rush.
4. The interception for a 74 yd TD.
5. The dropped TD pass by Wayne

Pierre had 7 passes thrown to him, one was a bad pass, the other he just dropped. Coach Dungy better look back at the film.

Hey stoonk!
He made up for the one that sliced right through his gloves by hauling a** and hawlin' the pass for the TD.
