I would think with Rocco's size, he may get a mini-camp invite.  There are so many D1 QBs that don't get a chance though, so it will be a tough road.

Posting from the hospital with our newborn baby girl Addison.  I wouldn't let a little thing like the birth of a child keep me from staying tuned to OAC talk in mid-March.

Mommy and baby are both doing great.  This is daughter number two and I've already told my wife that for every girl we have it's another guaranteed four years of football coaching.
Congrats and +k for that, rc!  ;D

I know there are no NLI in D3. This player has been sitting on multiple D2 offers and his D2 window will be closing soon.

If his offers are from quality D2 schools and they have good program then his choice should not be difficult.

With the financial aid packages available at D3 and the opportunity to play sooner and/or win a ring, maybe the choice becomes more difficult...

Manuel is right.   My son is in a similar situation with offers from d2 schools and opportunities to play at high level d3 schools.  If its not completely an economic decision, it poses pluses and minuses for both levels.  In my opinion, you visit the schools and do your best to determine which is the best fit.  Not always an easy decision.  Especially for my son coming from a JC.  He must make the right decision.

He is extremely excited to visit Mt. Union and a few others.  Just wish the darn snow would go away to make travel easier.

Snoop dawg,

The snow is gone and spring drills begin this week. Will he be coming to visit soon?

68,

What he means is the travel is still a mess in some areas because of the storms.  For instance, I just got back from Florida and all flights coming out of the Northeast were diverted because of the storms which rolled through early this week or over the weekend (and knocked out power to many).  Its been hectic trying to get any traveling done... and the planes in the northeast affect alot across the country (its like a domino effect).

RC , congrats on #2.... are you going to stop at 2 or you going to try to have a son?  You better watch what you tell your wife about coaching while she's on the mend ---- I guarantee she'll backhand you,  swiftly.

The tentative plan has always been for three.  I would be lying if I said I didn't want to go for a boy but I think we'll take a couple years.  These two are 2 years and 2 weeks apart and that was closer than we anticipated/expected.  Number three will definitely be farther apart.

I wouldn't mind coaching my girls up in basketball though.  I'm definitely in it for my football coaching duties but I had a blast coaching the girls basketball team this season and they express their thanks and loyalty in ways that the guys don't so it was refreshing.

We'll see how all this plays out when I'm calling the varsity offense, finishing my teaching cert, dealing with two little girls and basketball season comes rolling around with two weeks of football left to play...

Travel in the east has been a problem, but from LA to Ohio is OK.

He is right...there is nothing worse than being stranded in an airport. He is waiting for all his inf to arrive to Mt. and then he will plan a trip.  He is very excited but also somewhat apprehensive due to the fact that he only has two years to play and needs to make the right choice.  Raider, hope to buy you that beer soon.

Yikes.  Hope we don't hear about you on the evening news someday ;)

I hope you're more successful than I was with the balancing coaching and parenting.  I had an absolute blast coaching but the kids playing their own sports and growing up became a bigger responsibility than continuing the coaching so I hung the HS football up about 10 years ago.  My only coaching activities now is Little League baseball with my youngest son which is a lot of fun.  A dozen 10 year old boys sure make a 90 minute baseball practice interesting.  Not quite the same rush as HS football on friday nights, but very rewarding.

My wife is a saint (which is obvious from dealing with me for 18+ years) and never once made an issue out of the time spent on the football practice field or nights spent watching film.  She was very supportive/tolerant of my football habit and still is, even as I keep myself entertained with the radio thing.  Best I can figure is she would rather have me gone for a few hours on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons doing broadcasts than sitting at home PISSED off that I'm missing a game making her day miserable.  She always was smarter than me...........
