reality check

Two pieces of news reported the last couple days on ONUsports.com:

ONU will open their season in a Thursday afternoon contest as they host UW River Falls for a 3pm kickoff.  It is expected to be the first D-III game of the year which will be pretty cool.

The other piece of news is that ONU had a pretty good academic performance this winter with a team GPA of 2.73 (ahead of the national male average) and 50 players at the 3.0 level, 22 at 3.5 and 7 with 4.0's.  It's always good to see division III players show that you can be students and athletes at the same time.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

That is awesome playing the first game of the year. I always wondered how teams dealt with having a weird week playing Thursday when you're used to playing Saturday. Not much of a problem when it is the first game of the year, though.

That is great to be the first game of the D3 season and playing on Thursday vs. Saturday may give ONU more exposure! :)

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I do not like that e-mail address. @mountunion.edu:(

I have spent the last 12 years or so referring to muc.edu

I'm with you-every time a student calls for money I give them a hard time just to see how they react. I make them send me "literature" so I get free mailing labels.

I have to say that all the students who have called me were very cordial and I actually listened to their pitch. I did not, however, need more literature!

Any word on how the spring practices are going?

And the best track coach In OAC history, Coach Jim Wuske. The great thing about Mount today is that the school remembers those who hold a place in its heritage! :)
