You know the guy is poison when even the Bills (AKA "The Graveyard of Quarterbacks") don't want him....

Land O'Lakes DB Chadd Williamson commits to Heidelberg College

LOLHS is a perinneal playoff team.  The Weatherford Brother's have been the QB there for the past 10 years or so.  Drew Weatherford was at FL State.  His next younger brother went to UCF, but recently transferred to a DII team in GA or Alabama.  His youngest brother (Steve) will be a Senior this fall and is already racking up the scholarship offers, if he can keep out of trouble.
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Williamson is a pretty good DB.  The eldest Weatherford brother is a state representative running for re-election on a platform based on responsibility and family values while li'l bro' is building a police rap sheet.  Perhaps big brother should focus on helping his little brother resurrect his reputation instead of focusing on his campaign.

How can the elder be running for re-election when he was never elected in the first place?  LOL  He was appointed to fill an open spot.  Must be nice to be married to the daughter of a high ranking Republican.  I can't stand his smug commercials on TV.  Makes me want to throw something at the TV.

reality check

Interestingly last night during the draft, they scrolled the depth at each position for the teams drafting.  For example, Arizona stated QB depth: Leinart, Anderson...WR Depth: Fitzgerald, Breaston...

They got to Indy and at WR they chose to go: WR Depth: Wayne, Clark (TE) rather than putting Pierre or Austin Collie.  Just something I noticed that kept a D-III name off the scroller.

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Small but Slow

Two of my former players who were considering OAC schools have decided to take the paths of least resistance, from a competitive standpoint anyway.  One is going to Springfield (MA) and the other to Franklin (IN).  Both are big (5'11" 290 and 6'1" 280) and somewhat athletic, but have this idea they'll come in as starters.  Both have played center and guard and both can long snap.    The only d3 program I know much about rarely (okay, never) has freshmen starting on the o-line.  Both programs have been successful the past couple years and I hope the boys do well and enjoy their d3 experiences, but I am concerned that both can be a bit fragile and may become distraught and disillusioned if they don't play right away and end up back in FL taking a class or two a semester at the community college and delivering pizza.
Does anyone have much knowledge about these programs?  I'll ask on their conference pages, but thought I'd start in the friendly confines of the OAC first.

I noticed that on ESPN, but NFL Network listed PG along with Wayne as starters, and even featured a picture of #85 catching the TD in the Super Bowl.  Until ESPN broadcasts UMU more than once per season don't expect a lot of love from the four letter network.

Not even a front page story about DIII'ers sitting by the phone this year. If Tebow is the second QB picked there has to be some room for Rocco, dancing feet and all

They need to move the draft back to Saturday! Not exciting this year, and what is Denver thinking?

Hope K. Rocco gets a call as maybe a FA.

It pulled a full point higher national rating than last year's draft so the national audience must like what it's seeing.

Yikes, why waste the time to watch it when you can put it in a little box in the corner of your screen. Even dope heads like me have better things to do.  8-)

Final surgeon visit on Monday. No magic pills after that. Have to take my frustration and pain out on Facebook

I liked it on Thursday night.  Didn't waste a spring Saturday afternoon and gave me something to watch in office season besides the HGTV crap the wife watches.  Yuck.

Was VERY surprised Denver picked Tebow.   I personally thought Tebow would be a reach to be taken in the 2nd round, though I figured someone would do it.  But an expensive trade to get back into the 1st round to take him?  Hope McDaniels knows what he's doing.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I'm with you HScoach, either McDaniel's knows something we don't (like who they're trading Quinn for) or they were partying too hard last night. Maybe they needed a team Chaplain or they are bringing back the Hook and  Ladder and the Statue of Liberty to the NFL.

For McDaniels' sake I hope he knows what he's doing and isn't overrating Tebow's talent or his ability to coach qb's.  Tebow brings some unmeasurable skills, but as Tom Jackson said, "guys in the lockerroom only listen to guys who play."  Not so sure any QB's taken so far warrant their place in the draft.  If Bradford is healthy and if Rams can protect him he definitely has accuracy and arm strength.   Neither he, Tebow, or Mccoy have played from under center in college.  Claussen needs to mature and learn to let the game come to him.  The draft seems to be more of a high stakes crap shoot even with all the scouting and information available.  The college game and NFL are two totally different styles of games.
