Didnt know the way , out of , San Jose, flight delayed.

Thanks for the nice words, wish I had more time to spend with you guys but we were on a very limited schedule.  I will say its nice to be back in the warm sunshine.

Those are some lofty numbers for anyone to live up to.

Snoop:

Speaking of lofty numbers, here's the school records held by QB Bill Borchert that we were talking about last night.

Single Season MUC record:
TD Passes – 63, by Bill Borchert in 14 games, 1997

Career MUC record:
TD Passes –190, by Bill Borchert, 1994-1997
Yards Passing –14,617 by Bill Borchert, 1994-1997
Completions – 981 by Bill Borchert, 1994-1997

As if the 63 TD's aren't sick enough his senior season, he threw a total of 2 INT's that year.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Those stats are way above lofty........thats just insane.

The coach I spoke with said Seaman had a "great" spring.  As incredible as the Great Number 7's  stats are, and this goes for so many of the offensive stars Mount has had,  if LK had not actually tried to hold the scoring down, they would truly be unreachable.

But no matter, the best, hardest working guy is going to play and there are a lot more factors in starting as a QB than arm strength, like field presence and leadership
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

And whether or not LK TRUSTS the player!

Going into the fall, there will probably be 2-3 contenters for the QB spot, Seaman, Piloto (sp) and maybe another. The recent posts say it, no one is handed the position. Rocco was a back-up for 2 yrs before he got his shot.

The bigger concern I have is, will the defense be a strong as in past years wth heavy graduation losses? :-\

I'm not too concerned about the QB position, either. Having Cecil to throw to will be huge. I'm more concerned about the defense and especially the running game. Once we lost Panchek, we were in trouble.

Congrats. to MUC senior Judd Lutz who was named the "Outstanding Senior Male" for the Mount Union Class of 2010.

If you are looking for a quality math teacher/coach (football, track), give Judd a call.....he's still interviewing!

This time of year is gratifying as many young men/women leave college to make their mark on society....Godspeed to them all.

Hopefully both Zac Lemmon and Tyler Harris can  get the running game back to a respectable level especially Lemmon!

One thing that was taken away from the trip was that there would be competition for the spot and that there would be equal opportunity for the job. That's all anyone can ask for. It was made clear the best would play, no favoritism.

I think that is obvious when you have won 10 national championships.

The academics and the facilities are great.

Most importantly, the people were great, honest and sincere

It takes a special type of person to play at Mount Union.  Every day is competition at nearly every position.  A number of kids from this area have looked at playing there, some were decent players who may, in time, seen the field and contributed.  In the end, they all went elsewhere because of the fear of failure.  One went to a good FCS school and was a three year starter there, but wasn't confident he could cut it at Mount.
If your son is willing to take the challenge he will be given every opportunity to earn the job and quality coaching in a great environment.  Hope he makes the choice that is best for him :)
