One thing that was taken away from the trip was that there woild be competition for the spot and that there would be equal opportunity for the job. That's all anyone can ask for. It was made clear the best would play, no favortism.

I think that is obvious when you have won 10 national championships.

The academics and the facilities are great.

Most importantly, the people were greatn honest and sincere

It takes a special type of person to play at Mount Union.  Every day is competition at nearly every position.  A number of kids from this area have looked at playing there, some were decent players who may, in time, seen the field and contributed.  In the end, they all went elsewhere because of the fear of failure.  One went to a good FCS school and was a three year starter there, but wasn't confident he could cut it at Mount.
If your son is willing to take the challenge he will be given every opportunity to earn the job and quality coaching in a great environment.  Hope he makes the choice that is best for him :)

Agreed, it does take a special player and the Raiders had representatives from 17 states as part of the 2009 roster. Who knows maybe California maybe added? :)

Could we all stop kissing up to Sunshine.  If the Cali kid's check clears comes then he comes.  We don't need to butter up Dad any more than what has already been done.

Please don't take this as sour grapes because I assure you it's not.  I'm very happy with ONU's prospects this fall given what we have back and some of the questions surrounding positions with the Purple Raiders.  I'm glad Snoop and his kid visited and enjoyed themselves.  I just don't recall EVER reading so much nothingness for so long regarding the possible recruiting of a kid.  I've never seen a dad so involved on these boards.*

*snoop I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, just we haven't seen a parent since BWDad that posts so regularly regarding their son.

I just hope a decision is made soon so that we can all leave snoop alone and get back to general OAC football talk.

His kid was third string for Redlands as a freshman a few years ago, and believe me, Snoop is just warming up. :-X

Reality.....sorry you feel that way but I think your misinterpreting things.  There is no hype.  A couple of the guys were kind enough to provide me wit some info and in talking we became friends.  We met them on the trip and they are really nice guys.  I don't think anyone is buttering anyone, just some new found friends talking.

In any event, I will confine any other comments that you might think of as buttering to PM's so as to not upset you.  I appreciate your post and your opinion.

On the other hand.........GF.......you just cant help yourself.  Guess you joined the minions.

Ah, the old Remember the Titans reference.   Ha... I could almost hear Sherman Boone in your post, Pauley.   Very nice.  And agreed.  Though I think if Ric or Hscoach were involved in the lovefest on here, it would give it more meaning to SaintsFAN.   BUT --- if this California kid plays... SaintsFAN is EXPECTING the 2nd coming of Jesus out there on the field.

See what I mean, snoop (et all)?  It does kinda raise expectations for a kid (even if its subconsciously) for a group to talk about a kid for 2 months straight on here.

To SaintsFAN, its kinda like comparing weiners.... just doesn't really matter (unless you're like a dongkey)

Who's this "SaintsFAN" character you keep mentioning?  Is this a long lost poster like Doeder or Busta99?  ;D
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Are there other Raider starters are returning due to medical eliglibility other than Shorts, Miller and Panchik? :-\

Sorry but Gray Fox is an awesome poster and has been for a very long time Snoop.  I think it says something when a stand up guy like GF starts giving you some on the board.

I think that is a great approach Snoop and hope you take it to heart.

Rock...your point is well taken. When I posted that he was visiting, I never meant for any hype to follow.  So....How about those Lakers?

Oddly enough Boone talked to the kids at CJ about two years after I graduated to speak to the kids.

Snoop

I really have no problem with you wanting what's best for your kid.  But I'm honestly tired of this being storyline number one in the offseason OAC discussion.  I just wish we could fast forward to his decision and wish him luck in making the right call for himself as a student and an athlete.  Hopefully the first part of that equation doesn't get lost in all of this.

Busta99 might be my all time favorite poster.

Having some problems getting to the website, but recently on footballscoop.com Ohio State DB coach Taver Johnson said Chris hauser, Cap's new DC was among the hardest working GAs he has ever been around.

I have 10 returning starters returning:

6 on offense – Shorts, Nicolozakes, Guerrero, Miller, Ryder, Panchik

4 on defense – Budzinski, Kershaw, Ferrara, Jordan
