Raider 68

HScoach,

It seems the Raiders continue to have recruits coming from Florida and now a few more to California based upon the last two announcements. No doubt the P. Garcon influence in Florida!

I'm just really glad I don't see anyone from Cincinnati Elder, Moeller, LaSalle, Colerain or St Xavier on any of these for the OAC Schools.  TMC is getting these kids in droves (the ones that aren't D1 material, that is).

I would think that the GCL and the GMC would be recruiting "hotbeds" for Div. II/III.  Is Thomas More doing a better job than Mount St. Joe of keeping those kids local?

How smart can those kids really be to head into Kentucky for college?  Based on the one TMC graduate that I know (who will remain nameless), the average TMC student couldn't find their way home from Alliance.  Let alone actually pass a class there.........

Is it football season yet?  I'm getting bored.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Absolutely they are.... thats why MSJ "rose up" (IN the HCAC) when TMC's Head Coach was there at MSJ ---- he was good at recruiting those kids.  Now he's at Thomas More and they are crossing the river like the Mexicans are crossing the Rio Grande .  The freshman safety was 2nd or 3rd team ALL American in 2009 and is from Elder.

Rumor has it this year's freshman class has some impact guys and speed, speed, speed (not the kind hscoach uses to fill his friday nights).  If they find a QB this off season, they'll have a better year than last because 8 of the guys on the 2 deep last year on defense were freshman or sophomores.

Thanks hscoach... but just because I can't read doesn't mean much ---- I never put any effort into it.

Raider 68 --- Thomas More got the RB from Akron Hoban last year, Lymon Carter... which IMO was a "get" because he was up in that area... shouldn't he have been in the OAC?  I think he scored a TD last year and we're looking for an impact from him this season.

Purple Suit --- the Elder guys usually go away to school (most finish in the Cincy area) and then come back, live in the same neighborhoods and become Cincy City Cops... We call it Westsider Syndrome.

70's what kind of BMW does your FIL have?  SF is looking at a 540i tonight and wondering what was crappy about the 5 series as opposed to the 3 series (SF had a 3 previously).

535 XI I think. Does Akron to Tiffin in 1.5 hours with a tap on the brakes in Willard. Said he help me finance the 56K. He's going Luxury SUV. Still keeping the Mercedes Convertible.

His late wife had a 540I which was my all time favorite of all the fabulous stuff they except maybe the Jaguar XKE

How do you figure Florida kids coming to Mount are due to the "Garcon factor"?  Mount had FL kids coming before Pierre and he came more directly from Norwich.  If Mount was getting transfer kids left and right from prep schools or other D-III's, I'd call that the "Garcon factor".  When Pierre came to Alliance as a sophomore, MUC already had ten FL kids on the roster including Darryl Ely and Terrance Morring.

The truth is that there's been an influx of Florida athletes making their way north to the OAC for a few years.

Musky has 11 FL kids on their roster.
JCU has 12.
ONU has 8.
Hell even Etta has 8.

None of these programs had the number of kids coming north ten years ago.

I've heard great things about it... we'll see.  Its not brand new---- but new enough to merit discussion with myself about "do I really need this" --- and I would be making some changes to it.  Not like all Fast and Furious (how RC likes his cars)....

The real question Rock is whether or not they could retrofit your court-mandated ignition interlock device onto one of those luxury vehicles.
