Congratulations to these recent MUC graduates who were named to the Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation:  Brett Baker, Jay Carpenter, Caleb Crowl, Judd Harrold, Judd Lutz, Drew McClain, and Zac Saum.  Requirements were to have been a starter/significant contributor during your senior season, and have maintained at least a 3.2 overall GPA.

Of note is the fact that Harvard had 6 recipients......and, tOSU also had 6  ;)

Thanks Blutarsky,

Congrats to all seven of the Raiders, well done! :)

D3 was well represented, St. John's (Minn.) had 10 players!

For what it's worth...

I was hoping that this had been put to rest after the recent hiring of Henry Stanford and his staff and the goodwill surrounding it, but another long-time Capital Head Coach recently resigned.  Soccer Coach Dwight Burgess resigned earlier this week after 10 seasons at Capital and a pretty good record of success, reaching the NCAA tournament with the women twice and the men once, with a couple of OAC regular season and Tournament titles mixed in as well.

In the last three years, the list of Athletic Department staff who have left:
AD- Roger Welsh
SID- Len Reich and Bill Thomas
Football- Jim Collins and Jim Bickel along with several assistants
Baseball- Greg Weyrich
Soccer- Dwight Burgess

I don't know what it means or if you can chalk it up to regular attrition and/ or career advancement, but it sure does seem like an inordinate amount of coaches have left Capital recently, as we have discussed several times on here.

....However, Jeffers and Goodwin (Womens/Mens BBall) have been there for quite awhile.  Perhaps it's just a result of being D-III and having good coaches/administrators go on to "greener pastures"??

JK,

I thought the Capital Admin. was just not high on the football program, it is quite obvious that the coaches of the other sports see the same thing in their respective sport programs. Quite sad, really! :(

Hello To All!

It has been quite a while since I have had the pleasure of visiting these pages.  My old laptop took a final death crap, and when I got my new one, I just didn't get around to putting the D3 board on/in my favorites.

Anywho..........WASSUP?

Seventies - Jr. will be at Mount camp today through Saturday.  He had a very successful track season (finished second in the Middle School Federal League 100 meters), and has been working out, and attending conditioning for football ever since.  Darn kid keeps growing, which is a GREAT thing.

I have heard many reports from Alliance about new players, transfer players, etc...  Mount just may be able to win a few games this year.   ;)

I hope everyone is geared to have a good summer.

Later!

Welcome back skunks_sidekick,

Yeah, the Raiders may win a few games with Cecil Shorts back, Kyle Miller,
Panchik and a few other critical players. Some top recruits again are coming from Florida and some from California as well! We will see see what happens and the QB race at this time may be Neal Seaman and Matt Piloto. Piloto has a great spring from some reliable inside sources, but who knows come fall. :)

Stopped spiking his Gatorade?

Good to see you S_S. Amazing how those kids grow. Mine is starting 8th grade and wears the same size shoes I do. Goodbye WR, hello nose tackle.

It is amazing how fast they grow up.  My nephew....well lets just say I stopped wrestling with him when he was 11 because I was afraid I would get hurt...badly.   Now at 19 he blots out the sun if you get within ten feet of him (maybe that is why his feet are so mossy.  I am hoping he wreaks some havoc in the B10 next year.

Jr. just called.  He said Nate Kmic is as intense coaching as he was running the football.  I told Jr. he is learning from the best ever, so eyes open, mouth shut, and listen.   ;D
