68.... If history is any indication, both will play until and unless one separates himself from the other, as Kurt Rocco did in the Capital game last year.  It will be interesting to see what LK does.  One thing is for sure, LK will make  much better quarterbacks out of them by the middle of the year and  really good quarterbacks out of them by the end of the year.  A quarterback capable of championship performance will start the playoffs.

History with Coach Kehres proves your point right, but I think the seperation could come at the ONU game which will be tough test for not only the QB's but the Raiders as a whole. I have not seen Piloto as others have, but those who have seen both QB's are impressed more with Piloto, but that could change. Hopefully, the rotating will work itself out sooner rather than later. I agree with seventies make it much sooner than the last playoff games! :)

Or maybe we go back to dueling QB's ala Burghardt and Bruney, or...........wait for it.........Kehres and.............

Bill Unger, our M-Club President.     JK...I am surprised Capital is not better ranked.  Maybe the "experts" don't realize what it means to have a qb like Assman back. I expect them to be as good as ONU and better than Otterbein.  It is very sweet we have the Crusaders at home, where we never loose.  It will be a very big game.

Capital's season might be measured on how well they do against Wesley. I like them over Ott and there could be a battle with ONU. Let's see how well the new HC utilizes the returning players and intregrates the new ones in his first year. :-\

I hope Mount does not have 2 QB system too far into the season as a personal preference, but winning is the first priority regardless of the rotation.

I hope Mount figures out their QB situation in week 9 or 10.

Is it really all that surprising that many have fallen off the CAP wagon since so many people have jumped off the Cruwagon that were previously helping to drive it?  Considering the football team opens against a stiff competitor with a new staff in place and the fact that their defense has given up an increase in their points per game each of the last four seasons successively has something to do with it.

I hope CAP does well but I think even with Assman back, the Crusaders have some questions to answer.

Apparently both B-W and JCU are satisfied with their football team's past performance and will be making no changes for this coming fall! ::)

JCU has made significant changes.  Remember they were looking for a special teams coordinator and a dozen or so coaches to report to him.  Their punt team and kick return game will be solid.

My bad RC, I forgot about those major JCU changes!

Seeing as it's slow and there's not much to talk about....

I've taken a look at the current OAC coaching staffs and this might be the year the OAC has the most former OAC standouts coaching throughout the conference.  There's a great group of OAC alums in the current coaching ranks:

JCU - Brian Cochran, Doug Phillips
Wilm - 4 former Quaker players on staff
ONU - has lots of OAC representation with Dean Paul (MUC), Glenn Scheutzow (BW) and former Bears (Devin Russell and Mike Shaffer)
CAP - two former Muskies in Ruetty and McIntire and some former Crusaders in Welch, White and Spring
MAR - former JCU lineman Mark Jochum
MUS - plenty of Musky representation in HC Al Logan, Jim Kaser, Matt Louis and Chris Shank as well as MUC alum Joe Montgomery.
HEID - Obviously Hallett is in the mix as an MUC alum but they've also got Bryan Moore from Hiram (when they were OAC), Jeff Tibbs and Corey Fillipovich of Musky, Jason Lewis from Mount Union and former Berg players Dawond Roddy and Branden Jakubcin.
Mount - I lost count of how many MUC alums are on the MUC staff.  They've got a bunch.

Pretty good list of OAC guys keeping it in the conference.

Easier to name the non-MUC coaches on the staff, which would be pretty much Clyde Ross and Wakefield among the permanent staff.

Hallett has some big boys on that staff. Pretty sure there isn't an office big enough for a staff meeting. ;D

I don't know where every OAC alum turned coach played positionally but we could field a pretty good team:

QB: Doug Phillips - JCU, Larry Kehres - MUC, Zac Bruney - MUC, Matt Shaul - MUSK
RB: Nate Kmic - MUC, Dean Pau - MUC, Will Isaac - WILM
OL: Devin Russell - ONU, Al Logan - MUSK, Jim Kaser - MUSK, Mark Jochum - JCU, Corey Fillipovich - MUSK, Jason Lewis - MUC, Robert White - CAP
WR: Dawond Roddy - HEID, Paul Gulling - MUC, Bryan Moore - HIRAM, Marque Jones - WILM
TE: Chris Shank - MUSK, Barry Wulf - WILM

DL: Vince Kehres - MUC, Jesse Wells - MUC, Glenn Scheutzow - BW, Mike Hallett - MUC, Jeff Tibbs - MUSK, Brian Cochran - JCU, Mark Lane - WILM, Jonathon Spring - CAP
LB: Aarik Gault - MUC, Troy Chaffin - MUC, Matt Louis - MUSK, JR Clark - WILM, Don Sizer - WILM, Brett Welch - CAP
DB: Jeff Wojtowicz - MUC, Chris Kappas - MUC, Daryl Ely - MUC, Branden Jakubcin - HEID

That's a solid squad.  Even with some dust and rust at a couple spots, I think these guys could compete with the current products of about half the OAC schools today!   ;)
