Had a nice bit of nostalgia today. Came across a Sporting News highlighting the upcoming NFL Draft in 2003 and listed as a "dark horse" for QB's was Rob Adamson 6'3 - 224. They had the NY Giants selecting him in the 7th round and said he was a project but had potential.

Ahh it was nice to think back Rob. It is too bad he never got a better shot at the league.

Got a Chargers rookie card

PS - Rob's Mom was a regular reader of this thread long after Rob graduated

Another former Raider, Geoff Dartt is the offensive line coach at Wheaton. Somehow he didn't make the list in the Raider newsletter.

News from JCU regarding the assistant coaches including the oft discussed Special Teams Coordinator position....

Seems we overlooked Tom Arth on our All-OAC coaches team

reality check

It's not a case of us forgetting him.  It was a case of JCU not listing him on their coaching roster.  But their coaches list was from the 2009 season.

He must have been an unpaid assistant last year

JCU is going to need Arth and maybe a "real" HC when they play CWRU at CWRU for the first game. Despite a graduated Whalen, I like CWRU in this opener! ;D

Been gone for awhile from this website as work has gotten really busy.  70s, I didn't get the BMW.  I got a M-B E320.  Flys.

A couple things caught my eye on the last 15 pages or so... and I'm trying to finish this before I turn 33 at midnight.  I HAVE had the help of a few adult-flavored beverages tonight ...

I'm remembering an argument I had with my father about going to college or giving me the money to buy White Frieghtliner semi tractor and I could pay him back in four years. Wonder if my daughter would be interested in driving a truck  :D

I just read an article that says that 400,000 truckers would be needed in the next 4 to 5 years due to retirement and attrition.

read this too, KS.... I think it was in the AP.  One problem carriers are running into though, is banks won't lend them money.  Too much risk right now and alot of banks portfolio's are already full of trucking companies who borrowed money to expand in the the period following the 2005 post-Katrina truck shortage (for those of you who don't know --- FEMA used trucks as portable warehouses following Katrina and there was a shortage across the country as trucks lined up to gouge the tax-payers as they were paid $1500 per day to sit).  Whats REALLY funny to me is that for the most part, the guys who wanted to legitimately help the victims by running loads down there were paid.  Most of the foreign guys (mostly ones named Singh from India) are STILL looking for payment from these loads --- FEMA was overhauled after this debacle.

A hooker headed to Wilmington?

I can't imagine the Wilmington area pays real well.  The price is probably equal to the number of teeth she has?

any post that mentions prostitutes and "summer teeth" is a post worthy of "Post of the Year" Honors, in my not-so-humble opinoin.  If there's truly a "gummer" working as a prosititute in Wilmingon she can probably make really good money as a lot lizard at the TA Trucker Plaza along I-71.

HScoach,

Is it right before the season begins that we see some predictions for the OAC? I thought it was late July, but I am not sure. :-\

Wow.  You have a good memory and might have been the only person reading them.  It was usually mid-summer, but I'm probably not writing them this year.  Too busy.  Life is getting in the way of my fun >:(

So does this mean no more hangin with Rosey Palmer in the name of self-pleasurization?

Did you drive the E500 at all?  The partner I worked for had an E55 AMG (I think it's E62 or E63 now).  I always had to drive it to the dealership for him when I was a rookie.  I almost died once because I was doing 110 on the interstate and it felt like I was going 50.  When I realized I almost soiled myself.  Those cars are so smooth.
