I second that!     My thoughts and prayer go out to the Rodriguez family.

Pierre Garcon is ranked as the 70th player available in ESPN fantasy football.  That puts him ahead of Santana Moss, Steve Breaston, Braylon Edwards and TJ Whosyourdaddy.

ESPN's projecting a little less than 1000 yards on 54 catches for 5 TD's.  I hope he lives up to those projections.
If anyone gets the periodic sale flyer from FINISH LINE, there is a nice article about Pierre in the recent mailing. Probably could pick one up in local store.

Wittdad,

Thanks for the note! how do you see your Tigers this fall, win the NCAC and go deep in the playoffs? :)
As always, preseason hopes are high for everyone. Being a few years removed from day to day with the Tigers, I'd say recruiting class quality is the big issue here. Lots of shoes to fill, especially O-line. QB is an obvious need but winning teams always get good recruits. Continuing to win makes it better. Wiit had a couple of pretty unfortunate years with injuries and last year should be a boon to recruiting. How about a Tiger/Raider match-up late fall? I'd never have to leave the Great State of OH.

I'd like to see a week 1 match-up.   Would be much better than traveling to Oshkosh in September >:(

So by saying late fall I would deduce you mean playoffs and by saying you'd never have to leave Ohio I'm assuming you would (perhaps subconsciously) expect a loss since you have to leave Ohio to play in the Stagg Bowl?!?!?  Freud would be proud.

HScoach,

In your opinion, could Kyle Miller TE at 6'6 260 and good hands get a look by the NFL? IMHO I think he could if he has a great year, not sure about his speed and blocking ability! Your thoughts?

So would many other people as well, but I am sure a Witt/Mount match-up has been discussed. The results of which have yet to be successful! :(

I'd like to see a lot of OAC/NCAC games and restore some of the rivalries from the days when almost all the Ohio Small schools were OAC. I'd also like to see some of the Michigan schools like Alma and Hope

Oh yeah, and a couple more night games, at least till my kid is done playing on Saturdays

Agree, but the NCAC schools just do not want to play the Raiders in the first game. The question becomes which NCAC program wants a good test for the first game and are not afraid to go game 2 with a loss or even a large loss. If there is another reason not to play the Raiders, I am unsure what it is? :-\

How about Wabash and Coach Raeburn? ;D

Some how that "Play the best to be the best" philosophy isn't universal. Even a little HS like Mogadore with a tradition of winning, ends up with Canadian and West Virginia teams. Of course my first year at Mount, we had Pitt and Penn State scheduled for a triangular track meet which got cancelled when Mount won the All-Ohio track meet.

I wasn't thinking, was I. Any post season week means a team is somewhat successful given the limited amount of playoff spots vs. number of eligible teams. Look back a few years before speaking of teams success against MU. Witt axctually has a 19-9 all time record against the Raiders.

^ maybe that's what your record book says, but ours starts in 1986  ;D

That's one school we'll likely never see as an opener as long as both HC's are in place.  LK isn't fond of coaching against former Raiders.  And the family connections would only make it worse.

Now if you could rewind the clock and bring the Creighton led 'Bash to Alliance, then I'm sure LK would be more than accommodating to pound the piss out of them.

wittdad,
Four NCAC schools have winning football records against Mount Union.

Denison  19-9-1  (1915-1989)
Ohio Wesleyan  17-5  (1947-1979)
Wittenberg  18-10  (1916-2001)   This one's slightly different than your total.
Wooster  38-30-4  (1901-1991)

(Source: MtUnionFootball.com)

With the exception of Wittenberg (a school Mount's coach Larry Kehres almost attended), I don't think they'll ever give Mount Union a chance to catch up.  :P

There's a rumor that Denison, Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster decided never to play well enough to make playoffs to prevent Mount Union the chance of gaining another win on them.  ;)

Maybe the Raiders will get to meet Witt in the playoffs, if they both get in and if Mount is not shipped out again!!!! ::)

Let's hope the answer to the question on the D3Football home page about whose the best D3 QB, is "some kid at Mount Union."
