I wouldn't sweat any QB transfer as much as BDub's sophomore QB Tyler Brown from Hopewell-Loudon who got his team to the state finals three times. (Twice by absolutely humiliating a small school I'm familiar with named Mogadore)
Well the kid you're worried about is not listed as one of the top three candidates in BW's official season preview which was just released.  There are three QB's on the BW 2010 roster besides the transfer so I guess that makes Brown the fourth string guy?!?
he transfer quarterback in question is apparently Ryan O'Rourke (Avon) who came to BW from Slippery Rock University.  He was their mostly backup as a frosh and started the final two games of 2009 going 23 of 51 for 324 yards, 2 TDs and 4 INTs.  The other guys listed in the mix for the BW QB role are Josh Masters and Andrew Dziak.

It appears they have no one who has attempted a varsity pass for BW, except for a couple of wideouts

The reason Whitewater has played MUC tough and beaten them twice is their O and D lines are every bit as good, and sometimes better, than Mount's.  Put LB's Raebel/Borzick/Rindahl behind an average D-line and Mount hangs 40+ on Whitewater easy.  It's UWW's dominant line play that makes them a equal match for Mount.

And until Otterbein, ONU, Capital, etc step up their talent on the O and D lines, they're not going to be able to take Mount's best shot and still win.  Not to say those teams can't ever beat Mount, but as currently constructed they're either going to need an "off" day by Mount (ala ONU in '05) or their waiting on a lucky day with a QB completely playing out his arse (ala Arth or Pentello) to get a win.   But to really compete and have a legit chance at winning, they need to improve their line play.

I couldn't agree more with you, HScoach.  I said from day one after the 07 championship that the main reason we won was that the Warhawks finally dominated the line of scrimmage.  One needs only to review the goal line stand to see how our d-line collapsed on top of the Raiders O-line.  Winning at the LOS was the catalyst that allowed our QB and RB the time and openings they needed to run wild and to bring much needed pressure to shut down the Kmic/Michili/Garcon machine.  Now I wouldn't say that we brought average line play in 05 and 06 but the Raiders were just that much better in those years, but 07 was the year when we finally, clearly, were able to handle them at the line.

Hope you are all having a good summer.  Mine is going quite well.   :)

Last day for Mount Union College is today.  :'(

Wilmington never beat Mount Union College in football.  I wonder how they'll do against the University of Mount Union?

Who do you mean "they"?  The faculty hasn't gotten an opportunity to vote on any of this.

I meant the Administration and I know from past history that the faculty rarely gets a vote, which is unfortunate! :(
