Looks like UW-Oshkosh got a huge upgrade on the defense in the offseason. This could make the game a little more interesting

This kid should make it more interesting.  I know coach Kehres won't underestimate these guys.  Anything can happen, but I'll give them hscoach's points and take Mount.

You have to remember, he hasn't played in 3 years after being injuried for his 2 years in Madison. Since the Badgers are thin at DL, you'd think if he could still play at a Big Ten level, they would've attempted to keep him around -- they didn't. That might indicate that they thought his skills had erroded enough where he wasn't going to help them much and wanted the scholarship for someone else. He lasted at North Dakota for 1 week, too. Time will tell if he is anything close to the high level player he reportedly was coming out of H.S. Much of his success at Oshkosh will also be about his surrounding cast -- that's a big question mark with the Titans IMHO.

Hallalujah, and praise touchdown jesus!   ;D

Jr.'s x-rays showed the bone is healed (oh the healing powers of youth), and he was cleared for full contact.  He ended up getting his first hits of the year in by the end of practice today.  Now if he stays healthy, it will be a big year for him.

As much as last year was a mystery, this year's Mount team is even more so.  It's exciting in a "what nobody is going to be the STAR" this year kind of way.

It will be exciting, no doubt. With 3 Pre-season All-Americans in C. Shorts, K. Miller and S. Kershaw, there is someone to rally behind! ???

Hey, fools - HScoach didn't COMMIT to +14.5.  By tipping your hats so early, he's gonna make the spread much more nasty! ::)

If you catch 'a break', don't throw it away! ;)

Shhhhh.  You're ruining my plans.

And yes, the pick-ems will be up and running for Week 1.

I really like the new poll.  There will be a lot of big games in the conference this year.  Mount-ONU, as I figured, is the leader.  That will certainly be a huge game.  However, I voted for Cap-ONU, as I feel (factoring in my personal Capital bias) that will be the battle for 2nd in the conference and a potential playoff berth (of course, that depends on the outcome of one of your other choices, Cap-Wesley).  The Otters, of course, will have something to say about it as well, and Cap-Ott is always huge for those two schools but this year might have added significance.

I too voted CAP vs. ONU, for the same reasons JK did.  As long as CAP doesn't get mesmerized by the OTT voodoo hex that evidently has worked the past few years, then the CAP-ONU game will be huge.

I am interested in seeing how the OAC does in its non-conference games.  I have agreed over the years that overall the WIAC is the stronger conference because of their better bottom teams, but I think this year that might not be true.  If "the Berg" makes that big jump that everyone has been anticipating, and somehow JCU and B-W can find their self-respect, the conference should be the strongest, and maybe the most even then it has in a while.

I voted for the Mount-ONU game simply because the anticipation is always high for ONU and this year could be one of their best teams. Having said that, my hunch is that the Cap/ONU game will be a big one as well as Cap/Ott! :)

I voted for CAP-ONU.  Figuring MTU is very young and this is the best ONU team in school history, the Bears shouldn't have any problem smacking Mount around, and therefore their game against Capital will be for the OAC crown.

Interesting poll. I would think there is a pretty good chance that the annual clash between Mount Union and UW-W could be a pretty good game!  ;D

After chatting with him, I'm thinking he'll be glad if he knows everybody's name by opening day.

I thought JCU-Case Western would be interesting, if only because the coaches are from the opposing schools
