Hey Pat--

If we think that Kick-off is worth more than we paid, is there a way we can contribute more to your efforts?  I looked on the FAQ and you said you are not soliciting donations--but a few more bucks couldn't hurt, right?

Over ten years ago I put the www.MtUnionFootball.com website online.  It was born from my passion and love for Mount Union football.  At the time there was a strong need for more information online about the past, present and future of the most successful college football program of our time.

Since that day my love for the Purple Raiders has grown ten-fold.  But the need for this site has not been as great over the years due to the increased availability of information from the college based website at the University of Mount Union.

With the introduction of the new Mount Union athletic website on August 1st, and after much thinking and soul searching on my part, I have come to the decision that the time has come to end my site's run.

Simply put, I have felt over the past couple of years that I have not added anything "new" for Raider fans, but rather, have just duplicated what was already out there.  This is never more true than today.

So its with a bit of sadness, but great pride, that there will be no more updates on my website.  Thanks for the great times and all the great comments along the way!

I will continue to be a part of Mount Union football as the radio voice of the Raiders and my love for the Purple & White will never die.

I hope you can understand my decision.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the support.  The best thing I have gained from all this is all the great friendships I've developed.  Thank you all!

I do appreciate that -- indeed, we're not actively seeking donations because we'd like to save that for sometime when we need it again, like we did during the tech market crash. Wow, almost a decade ago.

I would say if you feel that way, perhaps you might want to buy a gift subscription for someone who wouldn't normally subscribe.

Thanks for the thought!

Ric -- you do know you started a trend, right? I hope you realize that there are many other sites that wouldn't have been done if you hadn't done yours first.

Thanks. Glad we don't lose you.

Ric--we love your work--godspeed--the game summaries and the stats will he missed.  The one-stop OAC history will also be a big loss.  Good luck with your life and i look forward to listening to your broadcasts for many years to come--especially if you keep HSCoach out of the booth and off of the mic.   :( :-[ :-\ :'(

Yah...yah...yah...blah...blah...blah..... ;D ;D ;D

I GUESS your love for Mount football was "ok".  The writing was on the wall for a few years now, and it's cool when you get to do something you love, and can walk away on your own terms, and your own way.

I know I will see you around, and hopefully we will share a beverage soon.

Should I be offended that you don't want me around or honored that you prefer I don't over-shadow The Ric with my wit?

I'm guessing the former............

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Ric-My family connection to MtUnionFootball.com will always make it special to me. When I'm really missing my brother, I like to reread some of those old travelogue/Game Stories Dick wrote. He filled a void on the Mount email listserver till you brought MtUnionFootball to life. It was obvious that the excellent job Lenny has been doing and the commitment Mount has made to Sports Information have sadly made your efforts unnecessary.

I hope that there is a place to all those old audio files and the stories on the new Mount site.

Thank you for everything you have done to bring Mount Union football to the presence it has on the Web today.

Ric,

Thank you for all that you have done over the years.  I remember being recently married, living in IL, and using my Dial Up Internet Access to try to find anything about MUC football on the Net.  I came across your site, and eventually D3Football.com, and was able to follow the Raiders when there wasn't much print media about DIII football at all.

Thank You again and understand why you are putting the site to bed.

Raider 68

Ric,

Thanks so much for all your hard work and dedication and I especially appreciated your site when we were not in Ohio and relied so much on its content. Hopefully the  new website for the University of Mount Union will fill the void that has now occurred. Looking forward to listening to yours and HScoach's coverage of the Raider games. :)

Best Wishes, Raider 68

I was just on there 2 days ago listening to audio highlights!  I really enjoy those so I hope they make their way over to the "official" site.  Some of them still give me chills (like a certain someone yelling "He's gone!  95 yards!" on Chuck Moore's run against Bridewater).

A sincere thank you to Ric.  I've enjoyed the site so much over the years.  Where else could I go to easily find out who MUC beat in the 2004 JV season?  Can't remember who they beat in the 2nd round in 1999?  It's all there.  Just a wealth of info courtesy of people who are truly passionate about the subject.  Thanks so much, Ric.

Oh, Man -

My first day back on the post and I see that Ric is closing down his site.

I had just started posting MUC records and NCAA-3 playoff brackets on my site when I found yours.  I immediately shut mine down and offered what I had to you because you were doing what I couldn't even approach in my wet dreams.

I looked forward to Dick's weekly travelogues to remind me of what I was missing after leaving the great Buckeye state.  I checked your "Tales of the Tape" to determine if I should attempt to work while listening to the game, or simply tranquilize myself.

I appreciate all the effort this has required these many years and Thank You for believing that we were all worth the hard work.  I won't win another half-time trivia contest without you!

Thanks again, Ric!

Thanks, Ric, for all you've done over the years for the fans.  It has been a great site.  I loved checking stats on your site.  I will miss it as much as anybody.  I don't think anything can totally replace what your site gave us.
If you ever publish any part of it in another form, I will be happy to stand in line to buy a copy and get your autograph.

Ric, your website will be sorely missed.  I miss it already.  I might have to enter some form of therapy to get over it.
Can anybody give me a referral?   :'(
