Some of us received an email from the college (Larry and I are still struggling with that (:>) )  which contained some forwarded emails to Ric as well as personal thoughts from Lenny. I am free to forward that to anyone who wishes to read it but I won't place it on this board.

I will quote My Frat Brother William Morris in the sentiment, "Ric has left the building." Feel free to tune in and continue to listen to his broadcasts

RIC
thank you so much for all of the promotion you have done for the PURPLE RAIDERS. I,  like you have been watching the Mt. pigskin team for a long time. It has provided memories for me, that I can only cherish and thank GOD he has blessed me with this wonderful gift. The times you and your UNCLE LARRY shared will always be ones to never be forgotten. You were lucky you had an UNCLE that made, I believe a LARGE impression on your life. Thank GOD also, that high school coach has been around to keep you out of all those "potential fights" that you may have had. Thanks for your great spirit, compassion, dedication, and sharing that info with people all over the world. You are Truly a CLASS ACT, no matter what high school coach said.

WORD OUT OF PRACTICE OBSERVATION
The older guy out of NC HOOVER is lighting kids up on the kick-off team. Scrimmage tomorrow night at 7 P.M. So far we are staying pretty healthy.

OK, before this gets too mushy, is anybody on this board considering attending the season opener next Thursday night at BW. Recognizing that I always feel like I'm from another planet, I don't want to aggravate it trying to find a friendly face among the Scots and Jackets.

Voice:  the decision was 100% Ric's.  The college had nothing to do with it.

To all the guys crying in their beer over Ric:  The real reason he shut it down was to spend more time on his favorite porn sites.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Manual Willocq,

Congrats on reaching +600k, joining RC and Seventies! :)

Ric,
I stumbled upon your site when I first started following all of D3 (as opposed to just Wheaton, and no I don't know Thundermom) more closely close to 7 or 8 years ago now.  Your site really helped me see beyond the "Big Purple Monster" theory that they DI cherry pick and that they should move up to Division II.  I also appreciate your dedication, which is still demonstrated by your play by play.  All the years of winning have not reduced your enthusiasm for the school you support.   Thanks!

Exactly!   ;D  If I have to hear one more hot tub story from Ric about all his conquests.....geesh!

Jr.'s first game is tonight.  After having a very hard time handling Mentor's spread in their last scrimmage (trying to run a 5-3 against the spread is just silly), they have now switched to a 4-2-5 (gee...isn't that familair).   ;)

Morris, the D-coordinator has ties to Mount.  Skunk....see you there tonight!

First game tonight at my new school.  We opened with 1,300 students in grades 9-11.  We are playing a pre-season game tonight against a team with 4 full classes.  We are planning on playing our starters the 1st half and then the rest in the 2nd.  Their coach agreed to play their Varsity starters 1st Quarter, Varsity Backups 2nd Quarter and then their JV in the 2nd half.

Will be interesting.  We have some Fr. that will be playing their first HS game against kids 3-4 years older than them.

We have 80+ kids on the roster, but not real deep in talent.  We have the makings of being a very good team in year 2 and for sure in year 3 if these kids keep improving.

We will play an I formation on Offense and 3-5 on Defense (we actually are pretty solid at LB).
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

For those close to Alliance, the intra-squad scrimmage is tonight at 7:00

I'll be there tonight so if anyone wants to make a donation to Ric's therapy fund, I'll accept cash on his behalf.

I had a year left when I spent a year on campus in the early 2000's , but didn't think I could beat out Rodney Chenos
