Meanwhile 140 miles west.......

Seventies (Coach Ross),

Another great shot, now you have set the expectations "very" high for your weekly shots! :)

Any idiot can compose a great shot of athletes on a knee listening to the coach. It's when they start moving that it gets interesting. I did buy all new Canon equipment and hopefully will have a couple of my "tighter" lens back from my daughter soon

Since I'll be taking my next pictures at the Thursday night BW-COW games, does anyone have a camera filter that makes Yellow and Brown look less like a flamin' Pile of Poop

And in answer to the question, Why are Heidelberg's colors Orange, Black and Red? Check out the German flag.

Considering the whining about Ric's site closing down (myself included) could you guys start now and get your whining out of the way about this site changing formats to PrestoSports. I don't want to waste the early part of the season crying about the good old days and how cool Simple Machines was, because it wasn't

Uhh ... sorry to tell you but the message board won't be moving to Presto. They don't have anything that can handle three-quarters of a million posts. :)

But I am hopeful that the extensively worked-on SMF 2.0 board software is finished soon. I'm looking forward to a new look here.

Any thoughts on the Raider QB performance thus far heading into W & J on Wednesday? :-\

reality check

This is the recap for those that did ask to be updated (If you don't want to waste time reading about a high school game in AZ, skip please!)

We played at the #2 team in the state in Division 3-A, which is one step down from where we are "projected" to play next year with seniors.  They whooped on us pretty good.  We lost 51-0.  Going in, we had 24 or our 57 combined varsity and JV kids sitting out for academic ineligibility (they had all failed at least one class in the 4th quarter last year and we're trying to establish some accountability).  We dressed 30 exactly with many having no business being on a field on Friday night.  After a 3 and out on the first series, I lost my starting halfback (for most of the game) and my starting X to a concussion.  We scrambled for the rest of the game because of our complete lack of depth.  My fullback finished with a respectable 15 carries for 89 yards but that was the lone bright spot.

We will learn from this, have about 20 of the 24 academic kids back next week, including our best WR and RB.  The good news is we play a team that lost by 42 to a much less talented opponent.  The bad news is next week's opponent put up 8 more points than we did in week one.

Only one direction to go from here!

Thanks for your support guys.

It's yellow, black and red.  So, I guess that begs the question again.  Why are Heidelberg's colors orange, black and red?

68.....I watched practice today for an hour and was very impressed with the Raider QBs.  It seemed Seaman was No.1.  All looked good ,and Raiders fans can relax about the strength of Seamans arm , he can gun it.  The other qbs looked as good throwing the ball.  Shorts did not play and I dont think Claycomb was out there either. The running backs looked bigger than usual and the linemen not quite as big as usual. LK was his demanding self.

As an alum of said institution I can say this.  The German flag is actually officially listed as being red, black, and gold--I'm not sure why the berg chose orange--I will try to do a little more research and get back to you.

Yellow, gold and orange (or, for Michigan, maize) are all on a spectrum, with no clear dividing lines.  Is it even official that Heidi is orange?  Maybe 'old gold'? :o ;D

I dont think Claycomb was out there either.

AJ is recovering from knee surgery. I'm sure he'd love to be out there but the Doctor is bringing him along slowly. Football or not, he has to walk on it the rest of his life.

Headed out tomorrow evening to watch the Cards scrimmage against Kenyon. Not expecting much of a battle since Kenyon is a weak NCAC team. Looking forward to seeing how far along the young WR's are. Very untested group.

Old Otter, What did you think?
