Haven't been posting much at all, but I'm sure that will change now that the season has finally arrived. I've been in the hospital since Tuesday with my (new) wife (married only a month!). Blood clots and pneumonia in her lungs. It was a rough few days but finally brought her home today. I hope we are out of the woods, but with these things I guess ya never know.

Moved into a new house in November and finally getting around to meeting the neighbors. They are pumped about coming to a game this season. One guy (WR from Ashland in the 90's) is glad as that always talk about going to a game yet never do it. Hopefully, I can show them the ropes.

Pat Coleman-Because we have messed with the last two polls so much, the software won't let me delete the current one. Any ideas

Just looking through the other boards before watching the Rays and the Sox. Went to the OAC. I went to the sacrificial alter last year. Had a great time, went to the HOF, met Seventies and some others and made the Buffet. I know the NJAC has a (100) man roster limit, which I think sucks, but the Raiders just posted their FRESHMAN ROSTER which had (107) names on it. Now you know why the East can't compete with the Raiders. That being said I hope I can make the ride to Alliance again this November. I love a challange. If you guys don't like the Kent State guy, I'll pay his plain fare to Montclair.  Good luck to you guys this year.

No, but I'm sure we could find five or six 5' 8" db's that have never seen the big city.  8-)

Headed out tomorrow evening to watch the Cards scrimmage against Kenyon. Not expecting much of a battle since Kenyon is a weak NCAC team. Looking forward to seeing how far along the young WR's are. Very untested group.

Old Otter, What did you think?

They looked good. Schlosser moves well back there and Coy looks bigger, faster, and stronger than he did last year. Receivers looked good as well. Defense played well. The Dline got pressure up the middle. Jones wasn't suited up for the scrimmage and it will be interesting how he changes things. I've talked with Loth and he said he's (Dominic Jones) the best player he's seen in D-3 ball. Hopefully he can live up to the hype. Special teams should be fine. Brewer has a great leg and will handle punting and kicking duties.

The first game being up in Maine will be a tough regardless of how good Husson. The guys leave on Wednesday and have a long road trip leading up to the game. Looking forward to another good season of Cardinal football!

Only three freshman impressed enough to make the list and one is 6'5" and 280.

I think its actually zero freshman, the Simon kid looks to be transferring from Walsh and Addison from Urbana

Just wondering, does Mount travel with all 123 on their roster, or do they or the OAC limit the numbers slightly? I know travel roster size is limited by the WIAC. If not, they might want to warn the good people at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh to make a little extra space available when the purple machine rolls into town!!  ;)

Honest to God, I'm cutting and pasting this directly from an NCAA questionnaire to each conference about travel squad rules, and I quote:

Ohio Athletic Conference
"Nothing here. Our philosophy is if a kid pays all that money, give him a jersey, a ham sandwich and a spot on the bus...Of course, bus spots are governed by each institution to make sure travel costs are in mind."

We could follow the WIAC travel squad reg's, but since I totally disagree with them, I hope we don't. It really does say "Give Him a Jersey and a Ham Sandwich." If that isn't the spirit of D3 football, I don't know what is.

BTW-Don't worry, it's not like they are ever going to sit down or anything

Then how the heck do they "compete" with the Raiders?   ::)
