Does anyone know what Ohio Northern brings back this year?  UW-River Falls plays them on Thursday.  Should be interesting!  UW-RF should have an explosive offense but a very young defense.

Just looking through the other boards before watching the Rays and the Sox. Went to the OAC. I went to the sacrificial alter last year. Had a great time, went to the HOF, met Seventies and some others and made the Buffet. I know the NJAC has a (100) man roster limit, which I think sucks, but the Raiders just posted their FRESHMAN ROSTER which had (107) names on it. Now you know why the East can't compete with the Raiders. That being said I hope I can make the ride to Alliance again this November. I love a challange. If you guys don't like the Kent State guy, I'll pay his plain fare to Montclair.  Good luck to you guys this year.

UW-Whitewater has a 100 man roster limit imposed by the WIAC.

Then how the heck do they "compete" with the Raiders?   ::)

Quality over quantity?  ;)

You may get an argument there, The Raiders have the quality as well, but have the ability to retain a greater number of players and the program's success stimulates significant interest and desire to be part of that. :)

Oh, and since we went through this earlier in the summer, I had to post on this page.  This is the year I graduated high school.  Sorry to make you old-timers feel any older!  ;D

Well, of course the Raiders have quality as well -- I did have a well placed wink in there for a reason. By the time the Raiders and Warhawks go at it in Salem, it's only the top 50 odd players on each teams playoff roster that count -- those other 200 or so in Alliance and 50 in Whitewater have no bearing on the outcome.

Ops, I missed the wink, but agree playoff rosters for all teams have only the best.

Headed out tomorrow evening to watch the Cards scrimmage against Kenyon. Not expecting much of a battle since Kenyon is a weak NCAC team. Looking forward to seeing how far along the young WR's are. Very untested group.

Old Otter, What did you think?

They looked good. Schlosser moves well back there and Coy looks bigger, faster, and stronger than he did last year. Receivers looked good as well. Defense played well. The Dline got pressure up the middle. Jones wasn't suited up for the scrimmage and it will be interesting how he changes things. I've talked with Loth and he said he's (Dominic Jones) the best player he's seen in D-3 ball. Hopefully he can live up to the hype. Special teams should be fine. Brewer has a great leg and will handle punting and kicking duties.

The first game being up in Maine will be a tough regardless of how good Husson. The guys leave on Wednesday and have a long road trip leading up to the game. Looking forward to another good season of Cardinal football!

I thought so too. I enjoyed it. As an alum it is exciting. My son feels the same way. Go Otters.

Hopefully my office internet filter doesn't block it for being "malicious" like it does the Presto scoreboard.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I do this every year just because I'm curious.  Thought I'd share in case anyone else is also curious.

MI - 5
NY - 4
CA - 2
MD - 2
KY - 2
1 each from: AZ, CT, GA, NC, TN, VA, WV

Total Roster Distribution:

OH - 121
FL - 31
PA - 17
IN - 12

The interesting thing to me is that FL has separated itself from PA a little bit.  Years ago PA was the 2nd biggest source of talent for MUC.  Even when FL came into the picture it took several years to catch up to PA.  Then a couple years of being around equal.  Now FL seems to have clearly passed PA.  Certainly a product of the increased efforts down south.

The olde computer teacher has a solution for that if it's problem. You should check the functionality of Mount's Presto site.

I'm guessing the hacking was the reason there was a poll about Yodeling early this morning.
At least that narrows the search for the culprit down to W Va, Minnesota and Wisconsin
