Thanks...I went through it with him in HS too at a big HS and then when he got his scholarship. I am sure to hear more rumblings now that he is a transfer...

I appreciate the advice. No matter how old they get, they are still your child.

How many others, but butterflies in their stomach when their alma mater (and son's team) is going to play a game? Tday is kililng me, plus I could not make the trip. Makes it worse.

One piece of cheap advice:  Don't sit in the bleachers with the other folk.  Having been the father of two boys (both QB's in HS), with one going through 4 years at MUC, some folks can say nasty things about your kid(s).  Not necessarily intentionally, but they are said.  Heck, I have been known to be critical (of someone ELSE's child).  I found out a long time ago to just roam around the perimeter of the field and let my family play "where's Waldo" with dad.

Good luck to your boy, and to the Otters....represent the OAC!

Well said, Blutarsky. I have had the same stinging experience and, I'm sure, have been careless with too many of my comments during games.  That said, I have also had great, warm times on freezing days, sitting among other players' parents.  I AM  amazed, though, how the kid on the field can spot us when we're Where's Waldo-ing it in various locations in the packed stands.

I know Loth is looking for your son to have a big year this season. I'm glad he made the decision to transfer to the 'Bein. He, along with a few other transfers, will have a major impact on the success of this years team. I wish I could be up in Maine to watch them play tonight. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Go Cards!

ps... My hs grad year is approaching. Only 4 more pages! hahaha

Any MtU fans know if the bus to Wisconsin is full?  Still debating....   You guys derailed my drive plans me with all the talk of Chicago traffic.  28 years ago (wow, was it THAT long ago?) I used to commute from Evanston north down to Harvey south and back and thought nothing of it... but then again, I DID decide to return to Ohio for a little less rush hour, among other reasons.

was just in Chicago this past weekend.  Their traffic is worse than Los Angeles and NYC --Took us an hour and 15 minutes to go from the airport to Wrigleyville on Saturday afternoon.  not to mention the traffic getting into Chicago from Gary IN on 90/94.  Good choice to ride the bus..

I used to hear a lot of comments about my dad when he was coaching and refereeing games (lacrosse).  Bothered me until I was a teenager and by then I was doing what most teens do...thinking those sorts of things myself!

It can be hard to just let them roll off your back, but you know your son better than any of those folks in the stands and know what's really true about him.  Good luck to you and the butterflies!

They must be somewhere between Wilmington's JV and Wilmington's Varsity

Kickoff had Husson in the bottom 20 in all of d3.  I picked them anyway, based on that totally brutal bus trip, but the report of Ott up 21 early had me worried.  I wonder if the trip did wear them down, or if the coach showed mercy?

I'm guessing it was cool, windy and just a little rainy

I'm still amazed he does this year after year and week after week.  I mean really, how do you hit a point spread that big?!?!

A mixture of luck, special tea leaves and a couple Italian cousins from Youngstown that I'm glad I was nice to as a kid.    Vinny and Paulie are great communicators.
