ONU laying in the weeds right now waiting for the Raiders!

I thought ONU has to play Otterbein in Westerville first, they better not look too far ahead! :-X

Maybe they do not feel Otterbein is that good.

What else IS there in Ada????   ;D

HSCoach (or anyone) - who is Blair Skilliter (backup RB)?  Was he a JV stud last year?  If you guys discussed him previously, I guess I missed it.

Skilliter got some varsity playing time mid-season last year as a kick returner.  Other tan that he was just one of the host of JV running backs that split carries.  Don't ever remember him standing out last year on the JV team.   Then again, none of the JV backs stood out from the rest.

IMHO, the guy to keep an eye on is Lattimore.  Urbania keeps having "promise", but can't ever stay healthy enough to carry the ball.

ONU should have never lost in Westerville last year. Hopefully their place kicker brings his A game and none of the ONU players have a parent die on the way to the game again this year. And some sunshine would be nice ;D
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

I am pretty sure how talented this ONU team is that they will be able to handle OTT- then unleash on Mount. When you have the BEST QB and RB in the conference ( maybe the RB from Cap is close) the Raiders should be ready. ONU has gotten them before.

If memory serves me corectly, there was quite a bit of post-game chatter on here last season regarding that game between ONU and OTT. I feel like Otterbein won't be one of the top 2 teams in this conference in the eyes of people on here until they win a playoff game. People still seem to associate the current program with programs over the last 25 years.

And, I'd put our 2 time First Team All-OAC RB Colton Coy against any back in the conference.

I guess there is no need to play then, I will let my son know and I will just stay home... ;)

I have this thought about 3-4 times a year when various people come onto Post Patterns to bump their gums.  Good thing the message boards don't settle the games.  I'll say that I'm a fan of Dean Paul and the P Bears but there's quite a bit of hype/attention on them this year.  Talk about pressure... I'm sure they'll be fine though, he'll have them focused on the next play only.

I listened to the ONU/UW-RF game and thought if was very close and the stats bear that out. The difference was two turnovers by RF. Regarding the ONU QB and RB, every year one has to prove themselves. I believe Cecil Shorts is the best offensive player in D3 period, but he will have to prove again this year!

I hope ONU has a great year and maybe it will be one of their best teams, but Coach Paul knows they have to prove it each week, meaning do not look past OTT.  :)

are you saying Cecil Shorts is laying in the weeds, waiting for the season to start?

I like ONU and I really like the QB at Capital. Every year someone talks about is this the year someone is going to get Mount. ONU is in the top ten in the country. On paper they are loaded. So I just feel this is the year they get Mount.

Don't forget your picks.  A bunch haven't been posted yet.

Dear lord. Did you raider faithful watch this?

Seaman looks like a five-year-old pulled from behind a parent's leg and asked about recess.

-"Be nice to have Brandon out there?"
-Yeah. Yeah... Yup.
-"You a little more comfortable with him?"
-"Yeah."

Pause.

-"And Heath too? I mean, you have two preseason All-Americans with Heath and Cecil."
-"Yeah."
-"That should be a--"
-"Yeah"
-"--confidence builder with everybody."
-"Yeah. Yeah. Def-- Definitely having some guys back... definitely helps."

I mean, in that case don't post a five minute nothing-mumble on the front page of the website.
