By the way the real irony in that survey was that for everything my brother researched and/or knew about the teams we played, it never once occurred to him that Purple Cheese-heads might not be very original at Whitewater.

Congrats to Mogadore for a win over Northwestern tonight, like that's a rare occurrence.  8-)

I'll be watching the undefeated, un-scored upon Mogadore 8th graders while listening to WRMU on my phone. It will be longer than the entirety of my life to date cell phone usage.

Well I have not posted in a long while but have to get thi off my chest before the new season starts. I am still upset about the most recent Stagg/ESPN thing. I was driving to my parents to install a new computer, transfer the old files, upgrade the software and all of that. I called the Mount football # to listen to the start of the game on my phone. Mount scored about 30 seconds after I called in and I was thinking "great off to a good start" - was not listening to names etc. Hang up the phone and keep driving (listening while driving makes me tense and with 3 kids in the car that would not be good). Get to my parents, kick on the TV and....the game has been postponed due to weather!!!! Turns out the phone was replaying the Stagg from the year before. The kicker was that the game was switched to ESPN whatever - might as well have been ESPN 8 (The Ocho!) since my parents did not get that network, and since I was installing the computer stuff I could not listen to the game online. Plus I had Sprint which does not have coverage in my parents hometown. I ended up watching POKER on ESPN looking for score updates on the bottom (memo to ESPN: POKER IS NOT A SPORT!). I caught the last 2 minutes and was pissed for the entire off season. Whew! Feels good to get that off my chest. Thanks and sorry for the rambling.

Oh and I almost forgot. I noticed last week that Ric is shutting down his site and I just wanted to say that you have done almost as much for Mount football as Mount football has. I remember finding that site long ago and it was the only source for information. You kept me informed when I was in Miami, Memphis, Chicago, Cincinnati and Iraq. Thanks a million for all you have done.

MEGA congrats to your Mogadoors for beating a Big 10 team! You should still be preaching if you can motivate like THAT!  ;D

Shouldn't take a miracle to get the 8th graders over Kent today ;D

reality check

We played the worst team I've ever seen in person and won Mount Union style 70-0.  With a running clock the entire second half, my fifth string fullback scored untouched on a dive play from 35 yards out for our final score with about 5 minutes left in the fourth.  I felt horrible every time a kid broke a big one when we were up 42 points but we were running the most basic of plays and the youngsters deserve to carry the ball and not just take knees.  Scoring plays of 35, 55, 32, 48, 67, 14, 45, 30, 40 and 23.  We ran 30 offensive plays, scoring 10 times and had 444 yards on the ground.

Total Offense: 467 to -46.

It reminded me of Mount Union versus Hiram circa 1998.  It feels kinda good to be Mount Union.

Kinda like W&J having 4 total yards to Del Val's 167 early 2nd quarter

I see where Mount traveled with "only" 65, Seventies, I was led to believe that the entire roster travels, with "a jersey and ham sandwich in hand." Seems like Mount is following the WIAC travel policy after all!!   ;)

As I get older my eyesight gets worse...has anyone seen what time the game is being replayed on TV? Is it on STO?

What about a link to WDPN?

Mount off to a better start than the WRMU announcers. "Cecil shorts fools the Whitewater defender for the touchdown", "Titans complete that pass to the 51 yard line."

Purpled-The Pay for view ended the tape delay rebroadcast. Take the audio link off the scoreboard on this site and register to Listen on the Raider site, not sure what that gets you, probably WRMU which I'm getting on the car radio till we  have to go weigh in for the game

OK If you go to Game Central on the Raiders Site you get Harry and Joe on WDPN, although they sound like they are yelling through a sewer pipe

OK, it's 2010 and Otterbein still has no audio feed or live stats. At least we've discovered video up here  8-)

The PPV stream video is not too bad, considering my abysmal band width capacity. And the UWOsh announcers are doing a good job. Not painful listening to the opponents' broadcasters at all. They're saying it as they see it. Camera work leaves something to be desired, tho. Didn't find the endzo in time to see the Osh busted TD.

MtU tacklin is not there yet.  Oshkosh quarterback is sharp.

The broadcast over the 'net is a little better on WDPN...radio has a low humming noise. Thanks! Seventies!

Oshkosh announcers:

1. "The question is, Why was Cecil Shorts so wide open?"
2. "...because he's good."

::)

28-7 with 45 seconds left in half.  And MtU cheerleaders get props for their pushups.

MtU D sloppy with 15 seconds left. Oshkosh scores. 28-14.
