70sRaider  You are obviously a student of the game and your battle for 4th post is more then fair. Sure beats the hell out of 3-7 last year.

Welcome B38W, as mentioned previously, this board needs someone from B-W and JCU to participate. A 7-3 season appears likely, not sure about an 8-2. Before the season started, I was one of few who called for changes at B-W, maybe Coach Snell has found the secret and the last 2 years or so was just a rough stretch. Looking forward to coming to Berea again when the Raiders visit in November. +k for you  :)

Wilmington only SEEMS like a suburb of Cincinnati. How about a night in Washington Couthouse.

Don't forget Lenny gets to be there, after getting home from Garrettsville around 11:00PM

Got a feeling it's going to be all downhill after:

"Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman from Williams Field in Wilmington, Ohio"

Stress on the word FIELD

Hey, as I remember, the local Wilmington Broadcast is, if nothing else, entertaining. Lottsa local "flavor"

Ah, the joys of broadcasting from Wilmington.  A game where the listening audience is gone by the end of the first quarter, if they were even there to begin with.

Also the site of the debacle where Ric at the end of the 3rd quarter took off his head set and said "I can't do any more of this sh..., The rest of the game is yours".

Hs coach:
Ooh, that's bad. ::)  Let's hope the home of the "Flaming Pile" never gets that bad. ;D  I'd like to see them get back to the upper tier and at least some respectability.  I don't think we even have a situation like that in the MIAA. While some might say Kazoo is close, at times they are nowhere anything like the atmoshpere at game day like you've described for that particular time at Wilmington.  At least Kazoo is trying and will be putting some $ into the facilities and their young coach, an alumn player has the enthusiasm and drive.  Anyway, thanks for your take on that - it was kind of funny to hear about Ric's action! (although perhaps the Wilmington crowd wouln't think like we do- then again, they weren't even there as you said! ;) ;D :o

Now that's funny.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Yep, still learning. Won't be so bad returning to Berea now that they replaced the Astro-Crete.

I clearly am not a betting man nor do spots make sense in my tiny brain. Doing OK on the Pick-em without spreads ie WIAC

One of my friends from Otterbein is calling the WC games for their online stream this season. He works in the admission office at the college. If you ge the chance, pop over and say hi. He's a good guy.

I just looked at their website and I'm happy that it's Lucas Buck.  I used to sit in my office listening to him call Ott baseball games and laugh my a** off.  He did a really nice job, but also spiced things up with his sense of humor/personality.  Perfect for baseball.  I'm definitely going to have to listen to him.  Is it streaming from a local radio station or through the college website?

I gotta say, I stumbled on taking the points against Wilmington for a very unusual reason, because I met their new coach at media day. He was just the nicest, most polite guy, who at that point had only been HC for a couple of weeks.

I can't picture Larry pouring it on like he might have in the old Rowan (I wear my Sunglasses at night)  , KC Keeler days

HELLO GANG!  HOLY CRAP!

Jr. is all banged up, but he is a HAPPY banged up.  The NC Hoover freshman score on the last play of the game to stay undefeated and beat Lake 14-13.  Jr. had 12 tackles on defense, but was really hampered running the ball with a banged up knee.  HOWEVER...he was able to take a screen pass for 50 some yards with 17 seconds left to get it down to the 8.  A pass to the back of the endzone by the Hoover QB to the wideout was the game winner.

He is currently sitting here (still up) lobbying to go to school late tomorrow.  He is hoping to miss an English test.  Of course, the answer was NO!   ;D

Any who.....HSCOACH...can I change my pick now that I know the Assman is probably not playing?  Nah.....I will go with the unconventional pick.  I know no matter what I pick I can't be as bed as 70's.   ;D

When I lived in Cincinnati I didn't know anybody who thought of Wilmington as a suburb.
Wilmington is only 30 miles from Dayton, but I wouldn't call it a suburb of Dayton either.

The best thing near Wilmington (20 miles west) is probably The Golden Lamb in Lebanon.  At least it has some historical significance.
I've eaten there, but it was many years ago, so not sure what it's like now.

Yes, it is Lucas. He came back to Ohio after working as a sports director at a radio station in West Texas. He works in the admission office down at WC but he wanted to continue to do sports radio and volunteered his time. I think you can access the live stream on the athletic webpage. I think archived games are also there.

nothing in Lebanon could be "the best" of anything, and Wilmington is a different animal.  I was stoked when my high school league split into divisions and we never had to make that trip anymore.

Anybody know whats going on with TJ Lattimore? I've heard some rumors, but I wonder if anyone knows anything concrete?

That's a nice little video clip about Larry at the end of the article.  A little out of date, but fun to watch.

If you are really looking for the true Wilmington experience and want some food, stopping in and grabbing a burger at Rod's is a must. Is just a little bit outside of town on 730 but it's worth the drive. I lived and worked at the college for 2 years. Nothing beats a Rod Burger
