Who is planning to go to the UMU-ONU game Sat?

If I recover from the Mogadore-Woodridge Game. I gotta be in Rudy Sharkey stadium by 4:30 for my son's game

Shouldn't be a problem.  The GONUTE (Greatest ONU Team Ever) should easily be up by 30+ at halftime over a young and highly over-rated UMU team that is in their first season of football.

Final score should be something like:

GONUTE  54
UMU 14

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I'm guessing the Cats are going to be all kinds of amped up looking for revenge after that slap in the face last year.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Bendekovic family. Jason's brother Ron, ONU's O coordinator, passed away from a similar condition five years ago.

That year UMU lost an OAC game, to whom? I'm confident the Polar Bears will keep the score close, somewhere within two touchdowns. It would be great if we pulled off the upset.

As for your posts, the majority represent your Purple Raiders proudly. However, some of you are a disgrace to your university. If Mount Union is the class of the OAC, ACT LIKE IT!

I wont be able to make the game. Safe travels for all going. Good luck and Go Bears!

This kind of thing happens every year when Mount faces a seemingly tough challenge, usually against a team outside of conference and usually with the smug satisfaction and confidence built by previous outcomes. The response this year seems especially tart, though I suppose they've earned it.

I do, however, think it's kind of ridiculous the extent of which ONU is being lambasted for assuming a close game. ONU can't afford mistakes, for sure, though neither can UMU. Seaman's gonna look like a sophomore at some point this season--them's the breaks of youth--and if saturday turns out to be that day, they're going to lose.

ONU - 28
UMU - 24

OhioFB:   I know you can't be speaking towards me since I graduated from U of Akron and therefore can't be linked to UMU as 'my university'.  And Lord knows there are bigger issues with U of A than just me............

BashDad:  Please elaborate on how ONU is getting lambasted?  It was an ONU fan that tabbed the '10 Bears as the GONUTE.  Not only of the MTU fans.   I was merely agreeing that Mount has little chance against them.  How is that a problem?

Besides, when Mount's young QB pisses down his leg this Saturday, I can proudly say "I called it".   Even if it was originally said with tongue firmly in cheek ;D

Reality Check:  Do you still have the OAC Rule Book?  Isn't it against the rules of battle to quote yourself?

I doubt he'll be pissing down his leg, though the point stands. Anyone wanna find the last time Mount relied solely on the arm of a sophomore QB? It ain't been in this decade...

2006 Stagg Bowl.

Sophomore QB Greg Micheli was voted Stagg MVP and holds the record for highest completion percentage in Stagg history.  Excerpt form write-up on Mtunionfootball.com:

Quarterback Greg Micheli was named the game's Most Outstanding Player after throwing for 202 yards and rushing for 42 more.  The sophomore threw for three touchdowns and ran for one in breaking the Stagg Bowl record for completion percentage (.818) by hitting on 18 of 22 passes.

No HSCoach Your sarcasim is appreciated. UMU first year of football..........priceless. I think sometimes the UMU faithful (maybe a better term) go overboard even when they are playing against air.

Yah...and I am a KENT grad...that may be worse!  All of us (most?) know that this game has the potential to be as good as advertised.  All of this response is in reaction to an ONU fan claiming that this was the greatest ONU team in history.  Now THAT....is hyperbole!

BashDad - you never stop hating on Mount...you are very transparent with your comments.   ::)
