I've got a real problem with this week's regional rankings.  Last week, the north was 1. Wheaton  2. NCC  3. UMU.  Saturday NCC decisively beat Wheaton (AT Wheaton).  And NOW they jump UMU over NCC??!!  (Mind you, I've got nothing against UMU being ranked #1, but they do it NOW?! :o)

To quote the movie, "Absence of Malice": "We may do as we please and you are powerless to do us harm" Thanks, The NCAA

Not sure if I'll be able to get on here tomorrow or not but I wanted to thank all of the veterans around the country for everything they have done and continue to do to make this country as great as it is. I know there are some vets that post on here and regardless of what school you support, we all support you. Everyday needs to be Veterans day.

Reading the article about Husson firing their 72 year old Head Coach. That may sound mean but he was in his second year. Who the hell HIRES a 70 year old to be a College Head Football Coach. (besides Hiram  ::) )

They hired a 60-some-year-old assistant and promoted him when the previous guy retired.

Ok, pick, pick: Who promotes a 70 year old assistant?

And I guess I should have said "Besides Wilmington", but he is a super nice guy

please be nice to some of us who are near 70,, we might apply for a job and not remember it the next day. Heck this week I got dressed and went to  practice at UMU. I haven't worked there for 5 years  ::)

Just off topic for a moment to thank my fellow Veterans for their sacrifice and service. I'll be joining a band of my brothers for a motorcycle ride to Canton today. (Free lunch at Applebees)

For those on this board who are serving or have served in the military.....Thank you for your sacrifice and for protecting our freedom.

For most of us it's a lost cause, but don't forget to post your picks for the regular season finale in the OAC pick-ems.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

reality check

Main story on ESPN.com today is all about SUNY-Maritime and its coach.  The four-letter network is giving some D-III love today.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

I watched the SUNY Maritime segment last night on Sportscenter.  It was a cool story, and I really appreciated the angle.  Definitely good for D-III.

Thanks to all the Vets, but especially to you 70's and all who served in Vietnam; you never received the respect you deserved.

Meeting at a different Applebees, although the irony of riding in on 15-20K motorcycles for our free meal kinda struck me as odd. There are a lot of veterans sleeping under bridges and begging on street corners, the ones who really never came home.
I guess two years of my life for a free $12 meal would stick many as odd as well

Yea, what he said
There was a recruiter wearing a Special Ops beret in Applebees today shaking hands and thanking everyone. I seldom cry, but...........
