reality check

I think it deserves to be noted that Jeremy Murray finished the regular season with 1208 yards despite not being the true number one running back till after the Wilmington game in which he did not play. 16 TD's in 7 games.

I think it also deserves to be noted that Murray still ended up with 216 carries which was third most inthe OAC and only 23 carries off the high number.  He led the OAC in carries per game with 24.0 carries per game (based on nine games) or 30 per game (based on 7 games).  It's not like he didn't get a ton of touches regardless.  If Donley kept his per yard average and got 30 touches per game he would have projected out at 1530 yards.

Murray averaged a rushing TD every 13.5 carries.

The Woods kid from Heidelberg should get more credit than he has going for over a thousand yards on just 159 carries.

He averaged a TD on every 16th carry.

I think we can all agree that the NCAC/Witt's schedule is a complete joke...

What? Just because they played four teams ranked beyond the 200 mark?  :o

RC,
I admire and respect your interesting and insightful contributions to the OAC board; and I apologize for confusing you.
Here is your first hint it was erroneous.

Last year the Tigers defeated Millikin 13-10 and then fell to eventual national champion Mount Union 21-19 in the North Regional final.[/i]
Millikin in the playoffs!?!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

reality check

Millikin had two semi-respectable (maybe even B-W-esque) years there at the end of the nineties.

Well, I made my picks in HSCoach's pick-em.  I hope to stay in the top half of the pack this time around.  First time I've picked against UMU with the spread, but I don't think LK will let the score run up that high.

Did anyone else note the heightened security at last week's game?  More cops, none of the extra gates opened at the end of the game?  LK being escorted off the field after the game by APD?  I teach here and had no idea what was going on.

I also have not seen much about #30 K Thomas, a freshman with 17 solo tackles, two forced fumbles and five sacks. Even when he doesn't get credit for the play, he's in the neighborhood, or he turned the play back to the person who did get credit. He is playing bigger than 5'11" to be getting playing time away from Budzinski and Dieseul

Not that I disagree with your assessment of Thomas, he's getting playing time WITH Lambert and Charles.  He's taking time away from the DT's in obvious passing situations.

Still amazed that 6 of Mount's first 7 D-linemen are either freshman or sophomores.  The future looks very bright along the D-line for the next 2 years.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Rumor (and I emphasise RUMOR) I heard at a local bistro after the game was that a serious threat had been made against LK by a former player.

12-0 = 13

Standing in the south endzone all I saw was him blasting around right end, play after play

that passing situation D-Line of Thomas, DT, Lambert and Charles is pretty sick.  Any chance of getting Lambert a sixth year? I know he's only been here for one year, but I see the next buddy wolf in Favazzo.  Hopefully this years D-Line can mimic the postseason dominance of the '05 d-line.

Anyone know when the playoff rosters will be released? thanks

Check Here

There are more than 52 players listed (playoff roster limit) but check the Depth Chart and those will be the ones dressing for the game.

reality check

I read on the Springfield paper website that Witt will be spending Friday night in Lima.  I was unaware but the article claims that the NCAA requires an overnight stay for visiting teams in the playoffs in spite of the fact that both schools sit less than 90 minutes apart and are closer than many conference opponents.
