-as an aside, anyone from the board going to the game saturday? I'll be easy to spot(hear actually)
If I'm there. I'm always standing along the south wall on the home side of the main entrance. I'll either be wearing black jersey 99 or purple jersey 66. I may be late given I have to do an Akron to Steubenville for the Division 6 high school semi-final game in Friday night. Win, I'll be to the Mount game, lose, I might not get out of bed on Saturday :P

Look for the guy standing on his head.......or not.   ;D

SF!  T-M have a shot this weekend?  This is another one of those "signature games" for the program in my opinion.  If they can go down there and WIN......I would say........"my little boy is all growed UP"!

I hope they can make that happen.......

dude, we are all hoping so... me thinks this team has got quite a bit of speed and athleticism ---- probably enough to make it really interesting on Saturday.  They'll have to fight their a$$es off on Saturday --

This is a huge signature game for the program... but they have to be careful about getting too up about this one --- Wesley would be next.

I'm a retired prof, and know that SOME profs will make no accommodations at all for 'jocks' - finals has GOT to be to some extent disruptive (how much is the question).  The flip side, of course, is that IF NCC survives this week, THEIR finals are over, but most opponents will just be approaching theirs! ;)

Thanks for also acknowledging that ONU's finals are also over and would be in the same situation "if they survive this week..."

Remember this is the OAC board.  You're supposed to hedge our way on our board when you're an unbiased contributor.   ;)

And I don't think anyone would use finals as an excuse for their playoff performance as much as I can picture someone saying that the playoffs impacted their finals performance.

Doesn't finals week at UMU occur around the Semi-Finals/Stagg Bowl weeks?

I totally agree with HSCoach's 10 or so point spot in the ONU NCC game and might even argue it s/b 14.5. The P Bears are in for a battle, one that they could conceivably win, but not without a lot of breaks and in the words of many Mt Union opponents, they need to play a perfect games as they did in Alliance a few years back.

one thing to consider, i believe ONU is on break all week.  I dont know if NCC is on the same schedule, but ONU is basically on an NFL schedule this week.

Any updates on the injured Raiders from last week?

NCC is on a quarter system, and has finals this week.  There has been some debate on the CCIW board as to whether this is a distraction of any importance (though all agree no coach or player will use it as an excuse if, god forbid :o, it comes to that)!

Unless something changed from when I was in school a 6 years ago, NCC is on trimesters. But you are still correct in saying finals are this week.

As CardAlum and I mentioned on the CCIW board, we often founds finals week to be less of a distraction than a normal week. But that may be because we were business majors  ;D
You win! You always do!

OhNo

I guess I'm a little confused by what I've been reading on the CCIW board.  When did NCC become such a feared national power?  I understand that the CCIW is a great conference but when did it become better than the OAC?  ONU and NCC have split the last two years and having been on the sidelines or in the press box for both, ONU outplayed them each time.  Now with ONU in the second year of new O/D systems and a senior dominated lineup, no one thinks they can repeat last years performance against a NCC team missing its preseason all american QB and RB from last season... I'm not sure how this happens...

I'm also pretty sick of hearing about the U being down this year on every other board... everyone here knows better than that, inexperienced/unable to "get up" for Marrietta and down on talent are two very different things

OhNo,

+k for sticking to your guns!

I think ONU has a real good chance this Saturday and Coach Paul will have them ready. NC has not played a real physical team yet. GO ONU!

On the subject of Mount being young inexperienced and not up to prior teams, this comment has been made too much and even some on this board.

The facts are this team was 10-0, scored over 40 points per game, gave up only a touchdown per game and have a good chance to well this year. Can they win it all, who knows, but the other Mount teams did not always win it all with all that experience. The great thing about this years team is not only 2010, but the next few years look very strong. :)

During many Stagg trips we packed books as well as equipment,,and other years they finished exams during Stagg week   ;D

From personal experience, at least up till 2001, finals week ended Friday at noon before the Stagg, but I think the Stagg moved back til the week before Christmas so nobody s/b in school right before the trip

It caused me to ride the midnight bus a couple of times

And I think most all of us are cautiously hopeful for Northern. North Central has a strong program, but so has ONU for many more years

Physical or not ONU will have to put points on the board. That will be tough since NCC's new defensive coordinator was my position coach at ONU. He was oline last few years. Ponx's defense playing has been lights out all year long. Two guys have 9.5 sacks They gave up 11 TD'S all season. They take away the run, 605 yards rushing 4 td. 14 is the most they have given up in a game.

My Polar Bears will have to play a disciplined game not turning the ball over, win in the kicking game, and protect Simmons.

The D numbers sure get helped out by playing a team in Week 11 that came into the game as the 206th rated offense out of 236 teams who then losses their starting QB early in the 1st quarter..........
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

HScoach,

I know you are the expert here, but are you ever going to give this year's  Raider team any credit at all? St. Lawrence's starting QB was not lighting it up in the prior 10 games, so why would it made much difference! :-\
