I'm shocked that there is no talk about the MU / Del Val game. Nothing here or on the MAC board. Must be a given that MU wins. ;D

rams,
Shhhh...we're hoping by not talking about the game, DV might forget to show up.   :-X

Happy Thanksgiving to all the posters and fans.  Thankful for many things and even though it is down the list of priorities, thankful for this forum and fellowship.

BY the way, many questions have been asked about Mount video feeding football to internet so fans around the country could watch the Raiders.  Is this difficult or expensive? Posting on this web site stretches the limits of my techno saavy so would like to know what it takes to provide the video feed and who makes the decision to provide it.

A happy and safe Thanksgiving to everyone and especially to my favorite men.  You know who you are!  ;) :-*

For those interested, it appears there will be a video feed available of the ONU/NCC game via NCTV17.com (Napierville local feed).

Wonder if I can pickup a wifi feed on campus from something around MTU
good luck, last week's game was SUPPOSED to be on @ noon today, now it's not-hell, that was the reason we came in last night. at least everybody got up early when I saw the change and cussed. In the "you have to love a wordy SOB" category? I loved
Cecil's oh so wordy quickly added "NO" when the reporter tried to bait him and coach about Neal's arm being weak. Being a bit of a fanatical pest, I get to hang with a few of the guys on offense, and my kid gets to tell his "do you have any *crazier dad* stories
than (fill in any fiasco)
At first I was skeptical about him coming here, he had cheaper, much closer, allegedly bigger time options-but it IS a machine here, and the uh so called bigger time options?a quick check of massey overall ratings?mt union is rated at least even or higher, and my son is a piss poor loser, worst  a team he's played on has been beat? I think 12 points once,  andhe'd be looking for bridges to jump off of if he got a 49-0 beat down like mt union gives now aand then. Happy thanksgiving everyone, I'll be @ shaffer"s diner downtown for my turkey day-and glad of it. ya gotta love kids getting screamed in the rain  on major holidays by a maniac like the o-line coach.

28-13 NCC  ;D ;D

We found one.

And I don't think there will be anywhere near that many points, no matter who wins
Anyone here a "massey rating" fan? he's got NCC winning 31-14
Anyone follow his site? Gosh, that guy can't have a day job..... now, given that it's part/art part/science, that guy has
been closer than anyone I've seen in the 4 yrs I followed on high school, 2yrs on college. Of course he's been wrong, and in my opinion, within overall rankings? difference between team 110 and team 120? aint gonna be much on the field. All I know is-I made a tidy sum betting on high school games using his "predictors" and I think he's pretty good @ D3 predictions too-again, "within reason". By that I mean if he predicts a close game, it's usually close. My kid's HS head coach was an old guy named coach uzelac-some of you ohio state guys might remember him  ;)  and his old school ways probably made his HS games easIER to predict during the kid's years there, but, gosh was he right/close a lot.....

I believe the main reason given was the setup of the bracket, not Neal Seaman. But oh well. Reading might be secondary these days.

I posted this as a comment on the story and will email it to Jeff as soon as I can find an email address.

QuoteJeff -- nobody among our experts predicted Mount Union's run to end in the quarterfinals:

http://www.d3football.com/columns/around-the-nation/2010/surprises-disappointments-predictions

The main reason we think Mount Union might not make Salem this year is the BRACKET, not the QUARTERBACK:

"We have never said anything less than "all the way" for the Purple Raiders. The bracket gives them a potential semifinal challenge, however, and there's a chance this won't be the color of purple in Salem."

I know it's tough to come up with a new story angle several times a week but this is trumped-up nonsense.

I will be surprised (pleasantly) if the DV game is televised this week.  I sent an email to STO re last weeks game and the reply was that Mount made the choice not to televise the game.  This goes with what I heard at the stadium last week:  LK does not want the games televised.  I guess he thinks that gives the opposition too many tapes to look at.

On the other hand, maybe it's not LK.  As poorly as the playoff games have been attended the last three years I would not blame the University for saying in effect "If you want to see the game buy a ticket and put your lazy butt in the stands."

The NCAA demands a rights fee for commercial TV broadcast of postseason games. Perhaps that's a factor, too.

Well, I guess that's no surprise.  I suppose they think the schools make big TV bucks broadcasting DIII games. ???  I only remember one other year when Mount did not televise the games.  Do you know if the NC$$ raised the rights fee this year?  It makes more sense that this is a problem between the NC$$ and Mount than for LK to suddenly decide he doesn't want the games televised.

By the by-I know HSCoach wants to continue to dis this defense, but add up the total rushing yards in the last THREE games combined, it's less than 150 yards, heck they have given up 388 total yards in THE LAST THREE GAMES COMBINED

Defense has saved the team several times this year, to be honest I don't recall more than two "pure" long drives that were "run based"
I don't count a long kick-off return, aided by personal fouls-but-I bet the COACH counts those---siimply put, if you can run it-consistently-on the boys, you have a chance-if all you do is run dive plays? Or just  pass? Good luck, you'll need it-btw, is  there a "sneakier"  more opportunistic kid than #21? Driskell in our conference?

I'm not concerned about the defense.  They've played very well as the season progressed.

And I'm not "dis-ing" them either over the SLU game.  Was simply stating that shutting down an offense ranked 206 out of 236 D3 teams without their starting QB isn't reason for a parade thru campus.

Sorry for being somewhat of a realist.....

Really enjoy reading all your guys posts and happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Best of luck to both our OAC teams this weekend. If anybody is coming to the state championship games at tiger stadium next weekend look me up would like to say hi. I will be the usher in section 12.

If Marlington can handle Buchtel's speed and is careful with the football (11 defensive TD's for the Griffs this year), I'll be waving from the pressbox.

Go Mount
Go Dukes
