Defense has saved the team several times this year, to be honest I don't recall more than two "pure" long drives that were "run based"
I don't count a long kick-off return, aided by personal fouls-but-I bet the COACH counts those---siimply put, if you can run it-consistently-on the boys, you have a chance-if all you do is run dive plays? Or just  pass? Good luck, you'll need it-btw, is  there a "sneakier"  more opportunistic kid than #21? Driskell in our conference?

I'm not concerned about the defense.  They've played very well as the season progressed.

And I'm not "dis-ing" them either over the SLU game.  Was simply stating that shutting down an offense ranked 206 out of 236 D3 teams without their starting QB isn't reason for a parade thru campus.

Sorry for being somewhat of a realist.....

Oh coach, I wasn't cracking on you. I'vve seen evrery snap this year, and the offense has really put the D in some dam bad spots-special teams too have not helped in some turnover prone games -and the D ""holds up"-THAT impresses me about this yr's defense- The St L game wasn't anything earth shattering in terms of stopping a hi power offense. was a nice solid and kind of expected performance

The NCAA demands a rights fee for commercial TV broadcast of postseason games. Perhaps that's a factor, too.

Well, I guess that's no surprise.  I suppose they think the schools make big TV bucks broadcasting DIII games. ???  I only remember one other year when Mount did not televise the games.  Do you know if the NC$$ raised the rights fee this year?  It makes more sense that this is a problem between the NC$$ and Mount than for LK to suddenly decide he doesn't want the games televised.

Well, crap!  The only reason I add the DirecTV SportsPack every year is for STO's game broadcasts.

Happy Turkey Day !!!

Really enjoy reading all your guys posts and happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Best of luck to both our OAC teams this weekend. If anybody is coming to the state championship games at tiger stadium next weekend look me up would like to say hi. I will be the usher in section 12.

Sorry, I'm praying to be watching Mogadore Friday at Fawcett

I seldom watch rebroadcasts, but I'm gonna miss buying the playoff run on CD

And 388 total yards against the Number 3 team in the OAC, the bottom feeding Muskies and any team that made the playoff is still real impressive. It's 12 determined quarters
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

For those interested, it appears there will be a video feed available of the ONU/NCC game via NCTV17.com (Napierville local feed).

Wonder if I can pickup a wifi feed on campus from something around MTU
good luck, last week's game was SUPPOSED to be on @ noon today, now it's not-hell, that was the reason we came in last night. at least everybody got up early when I saw the change and cussed. In the "you have to love a wordy SOB" category? I loved
Cecil's oh so wordy quickly added "NO" when the reporter tried to bait him and coach about Neal's arm being weak. Being a bit of a fanatical pest, I get to hang with a few of the guys on offense, and my kid gets to tell his "do you have any *crazier dad* stories
than (fill in any fiasco)
At first I was skeptical about him coming here, he had cheaper, much closer, allegedly bigger time options-but it IS a machine here, and the uh so called bigger time options?a quick check of massey overall ratings?mt union is rated at least even or higher, and my son is a piss poor loser, worst  a team he's played on has been beat? I think 12 points once,  andhe'd be looking for bridges to jump off of if he got a 49-0 beat down like mt union gives now aand then. Happy thanksgiving everyone, I'll be @ shaffer"s diner downtown for my turkey day-and glad of it. ya gotta love kids getting screamed in the rain  on major holidays by a maniac like the o-line coach.
"Wake" was my son's coach in high school.  A demanding man, but a heck of a good coach.

I LOVE the guy, "maniac" and O-line are words that should always go together-everything I have heard(and seen) about him is all good-except for
that "fred flinstone offense" I heard he ran in high school-I'm (knd of)kidding,  but our high school team had one opponent that
ran it, and I'm not a fan of it.  We would usually win single wing game, but it messed up the defense the next week----But, I agree, it sure seems like he does  a great job with the o-line here. He's a LOT like kid's high school head coach-who was o-line coach @ univ of michigan back in "Bo" days-

Yeah, they ran the Wing T.  I didn't like it at first, but once you knew what was going on it was a lot of fun to watch.  Wake and the Perry Panthers won a lot of games running that O.

Can't find a nicer kid, either.  Quiet, unassuming off the field and crazy-focused on.  He makes his opportunities. Sometimes seems to be charmed the way he's in the path of the pass when there's no offensive receiver in the neighborhood.

Someone asked where the Del Val posters are.  Wisely avoiding conjuring up added motivation for the home team perhaps?

Should be some worthy competition Saturday, I'm told. My favorite Raider, who is pretty stingy about handing out compliments regarding  the UMU competition,  tells me they are good, on both sides of the ball.

...Oh, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING, all!

Go UMU and ONU this Saturday.  Looking forward to a couple OAC stellar GAMES!
