Thanks Frank, I respect your appraisal and look forward to seeing what Larry cooks up to stop him

Other than the UWW boys, when was the last time Mount gave up 100 yards rushing to a RB in the play-offs?  Maybe the SJF back the first time Mount played them?

Mount's run defense has been solid all year, and downright stingy the last 1/2 of the season.  This defense has rounded into a typical, fast, nasty unit.

After watching yesterday, I was also wondering when was the last time Mount threw a pass over 30 yards?  Not catch and run, but an actual air it out long pass.  It could be interesting to see if that part of Mount's offense comes into play the next three weeks.

Bing, bing, bing another winner: Mark Robinson-St John Fisher in 2006 but combined Bethel put up some big combined yards in 2007.

Good Night!

Bemus Point you say...
Home of Josh Liddell and now Adam Irgang another past great TE.... another trivial thing is the fact that another past Mount TE married a girl from Bemus Point.

John Healy TE at Mount 2003 season, had a good game against  St. Johns in the Stagg (one of few who played well that day)

Here is a question: In your opinion which 4 teams will win the quarter finals:

UWW
Mount Union
Wesley
Mary Hardin Baylor
St. Thomas
North Central
Bethel
Alfred

The North and South Brackets have the overall strongest teams, so something has to give, IMHO! :)

Raider guy:

I always enjoy my time inside the very nice Mount Union press box.  After living in Upstate NY for a few years, I did my time in cold weather. :)

What exactly to you have to do wrong to get the job of filming from a top of the scoreboard on a day like yesterday.

(Hint: Be a coach that gets a sideline penalty)

Raider68:

I posted this over on the MIAA board, but will post it additionally here since you also asked the question here.  My picks are a little different than hornet's.

I'm probably wrong, but I'm going with Mount Union, North Central, Wesley and St. Thomas!    Who are your picks?

P.S. Yes, after that shellshacking yesterday, it will be interesting to see if Rodriquez gets the axe.  I think he will be allowed to coach in whatever bowl game Michigan gets to, but if they lose in that one, especially if it is a bad loss, I would be disappointed if they didn't let him go.  BTW, Brian Kelly lucked out last night when ND beat USC.  While I am not a fan of the former, I don't like USC's new coach either.  Also, ND's freshman QB's dad is a full-time assistant coach at Northwestern (my 2nd most favorite Big Ten team ).

What he said, although UWW with a healthy 1st string QB may provide a different result

All 4 favorites move on.  Only question in my mind is the margins.

The winners listed in order of confidence:
Mount
Whitewater
Wesley
St Thomas

I know UWW has given up points, but they match up much better with NCC.  Would love to be wrong, but I think Whitewater dominates NCC.  Something around 31-14 with the score making it look closer than it really was.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

hscoach.  i like your picks except uwww.  i was surprised by the line on the wesley game.  what made you go double digits?

I like the way you think.  Interesting how the Hawks beating 2 very talented, undefeated teams with highly ranked offenses and QB's by 30 and 14 points with our back up QB has many doubting our chances against NCC. I know NCC has a much better defense than the team that played us in 07 but we did win that meeting 59-28.  Don't get me wrong, I expect a tough battle and a much closer score than last time.  Just not sure our performance, thus far in the play-offs, is enough to consider us the underdog but hey, that works for me, I guess.  ;D

Mr. Ypsi

NO ONE (except the selection committee :P) considers you the underdog.  But say thank you to them for that extra motivation! ;D  (Though if any Warhawks need extra motivation to get up for a regional final game, they're in more trouble than I think they are!)

Personally, as a CCIW guy, I'm sticking with my selection of NCC in the pickems, but I would consider it an upset. ;)
