And Seventiesraider, I'll go with the away team who hasn't missed a beat in............oh, 27 games

I'm with Sidekick, get to 54 and it's impressive.  ;) And...I'd consider leaving Trine in the game for three and half quarters a sincere missed beat. Trine?? :P After that game, North Central probably made reservations in Roanoke.  ;D ;D ;D

Since someone else brought up Massey, here's his power ratings for this week:
1. North  Central
2. Mount Union
3 Whitewater
4. St Thomas

Alfred 23rd

The only weakness in massey system is "it" doesn't realize that whitewater played w back up QB, and that the starter will be back-now if said qb is done for year, it's probably accurate? and alfred is ranked in about same group that del val was-check out massey college bracket analysis on D3 btw

Forgive them if they get a little snarly at the number 27, FF413, that's how many games they've played since they've actually BEATEN Whitewater.  ;D

a quick look @ massey, and I know, trine kicked the snot out of pretty week competion in the regular season, beat a depauw team that was in shock over their preceding game with wabash and played decent/competitive against whitewater...not sure if that body of work is an upper echelon team level or not?

On my little 17" screen along with most of the the other serious playoff teams and unfortunately it was against DePauw who I have zero respect for as a playoff team. (Also saw them for real against Case Western last year) I do give Trine credit that they stepped after playing their unfortunate schedule of bottom feeders. All season long it's been tough to get a read on a team that by virtue of there conference has to play teams like Olivet. I had totally discounted Watt's Passing Efficiency because of who they played. They did prove that most of us had probably underestimated them this year or...........wait for it.............Whitewater didn't play well.

As a contrast, Del Val played Mount hard enough I stayed for the whole game, but in retrospect, it was over before I got settled into my spot

Can my day get any worse. The NCAC is now following me on Twitter.

I may have made some ridiculous statements in my time, but this takes the cake. :D

Hey, hey, hey.  25,000 empty seats saw that big win over the weekend.

70's, that's better than I thought. I had you for never having seen them play. I haven't seen them live this year but saw them in 2008 in Angola and was very impressed. I'll keep them in my top 10 for sure.

skunks_sidekick

Maybe the game this week will give some insight as to where Trine should be placed poll-wise.  If UWW rolls NCC, then Trine earned their lofty ranking.  If NCC handles UWW, well then maybe last weekend's game said more about UWW than it did about Trine.

I personally believe that the WIAC was down this year, and UWW really didn't have a challenge until these last two weeks.  As Mount fans, we have lived this throughout the years.  Add that in with a back-up QB, and I believe what we witnessed against Franklin and Trine is very understandable.  Like I said....this week will be very telling.

Depends, as always, on which quarterback plays, yep.

I don't know. 70's seeds to group teams like Trine and Franklin in with Benedictine and Endicott. I think those two teams (franklin and Trine) are more comparable to the OAC #2, CCIW #2, MIAC #2 teams in my view, maybe better. There isn't alot of difference between ONU, Wheaton, Bethel, Franklin and Trine in my view (I think you could throw in St Thomas and Linfield this year). They just come from MUCH weaker conferences.

Ya, I know, it's all about history.  Well, at least history before 2007.  ;)

Trine is not the cupcake you seem to think they are, 70's, but I give up.......should just call NCC and forfeit. What's the point........................... :P ;)

I'm sorry.  A backup QB has not allowed 52 points against in the last two weeks.

To put this in perspective, St. Thomas is the next closest of the so called "possible #1 seeds", with 27 points against...practically half of UWW's (and St Thomas also played 2 OTs).  The other four "possible #1 seeds" (NCC, Mt Union, Wesley, and UMHB) have had a COMBINED 54 points scored against them.
