Sidekick, Theaprof, HurfMUC, Mtfan, etc:  With a potential trip to Minnesota for the semi-finals screwing up our annual week 14 wing & beer fest, should we consider moving it up a week and do it this Friday night?  Or do we want to roll the dice that Bethel will save us?

I vote for meeting this week and then, if Bethel does its duty, again next week.  Let me know.

You better not wear yourself and the hat out before the STAGG Bowl with all this partying because I expect you guys to be there right and ready to go!!! ;D ;D ;D

Hey, with a realistic starting time we get to sleep in a little. And since you asked before, little Kevin is 5' 9" and playing in the post position on his 8th grade basketball team, which is the only thing keeping us from leaving Thursday, that and the fact we haven't qualified yet ;) Sorry, I should have FedEx'ed the Buckeyes last year.

OTT was a paper #2 in the OAC that year.  How ANYONE with any kind of toughness lost to them (yah you ONU and CAP) is beyond comprehension.

Trine/schmine/who wants to whine...they are gone.  ONU had a chance to step up...they are gone.  Linfield was picked by many to beat St. Thomas...they are gone.

It's all about the contenders now....the pretenders are gone.

As for Alfred.....please bring your A game.  No "first time at Mount jitters"......no "never been this far in the play-offs".......no "two bounces this way or that and its a 7 point game" crap.

Let's see what happens...... ;D

SK

You forgot the "Mount has never seen anything like.......... (fill in the blank here)before." ???

I don't see why you guys would have an issue with supporters of their team saying Mount hasn't seen anything like <whatever> before.  Would you rather have them be lifeless and just admit they are going to get rolled?  You say on the one hand you don't want the Mount Union jitters argument but on the other you don't want them displaying confidence that their team is going to bring an element to the table that Mount Union isn't anticipating.

By the way, a while back when Frank pointed out Alfred's running back being patient and waiting for holes to open...not so sure that the holes will open against MU.  He might be sitting pretty and waiting only to get repeatedly tackled in the backfield.  I hope Alfred plays to their potential, I'm telling you guys if they do it will be a worthwhile game to attend.

Well done!

I vote for Option #2 because I didn't even know Mount had a swim team, so why do I care if they have to bow at the Kenyon Throne?  Though the Wabash candy striper pants will be hard to take.  I also like getting Allegheny in place of Etta.  They've been competitive in the last 20 years and their field doesn't have a huge "Food 4 Less" over looking it.

Mudville is closer too, and I'm sure the AlleGhators would be SO pleased to be in Ohio Athletic Conference ...back in the olden days of the PAC, we played Mount Union, though I don't think I made the hike very often to Robertson Field. (Is THAT what it was called?  Gad, why can't I remember anything important?) If I had been there a generation later, there might have been some incentive to watch a football game. (Now, let's see what this does with my bifurcating the quotes...)

Heard it's MUCH improved...though I haven't been there...college student review-- and HE'LL eat ANYTHING

... anything like "Pep and the Saxon Band" before.  Okay, so a bone for the canned vs live music thread of Alfred's Band Man -  ;D

Question involving Marietta and their stadium (per Option 2 trade rumors and please consider future 3rd rounders from Mogadore for the Ohio NCACers in addition to stated deal - wife has pottery penchant, and while passing through Marietta on way to "Whorrville" (and Shisler's  :D), she asked if this was Donald Drum, the esoteric artisan she collects?  No jokes about molding, firing, and "kilns/killins'" please.  ;D

Marietta's Don Drumm was a player and coach and born in 1915. Akron's version is much younger and still costing me a fortune every Christmas

Booby - only because the various posters who used that phrase were very over the top.  I admit it might be a bit of a superior attitude by some of us Mount posters, but we really have seen about everything over the past umpteen years in these play-offs.

I for one hope Alfred plays the game of their life, and we battle down to the 4th quarter (with Mount winning of course).  I will be first to say congratulations to the Alfred team, and admit that we hadn't seen anything like the Alfred bunch in a long time.

That would be great if Alfred plays to their potential, but what if Mount plays to their potential as well! :)

I'm all for moving it up too Friday night, especially after the Dukes debacle last saturday night!!!! ::) and  Butchel being the new "Glenville of Akron".
The new wing's warehouse is fine with me!........and yes we will beer fest to a Bethel win among other things!
