Wes Ryder had 30 more yards than "the next Nate Kmic." Murray had 122, but fought for everyone of those yards. Happy Seaman settled down and got into the game. Alfred's red zone defense was everything it was billed to be and more. I guess this won't be a Bethel team anywhere similar to the one that last came to Alliance.

Good win for the Raiders today, when the offense was not in sink for the first quarter and a half. The defense just continues to get it done. Congrats and defense will get the Raiders to the Stagg, IMHO! :)

YES!

Ok all you Mount/OAC posters.....let's do our usual semi-final party  RIGHT this Friday night at the Wing Warehouse.

Myself, Jr. and possibly Skunk will be there.

Seeing as how Bethel takes their religion seriously, I doubt we will have any Royal fans there.

I posted here a few weeks ago.......things have really turned in Alliance.  I like our chances to make it to, and win the Stagg.   ;)

No more art dedications--see you at Wing Warehouse on Friday Night!!!  Whoo-hoo BETHEL!  I love you, because I hate the idea of St. Paul in December!

Nice to meet Pep and AuKazoo today. Ventured into Saxon land at the end of the 1st quarter to say hi. Beyond the pep band, the Saxon crowd was vocal but respectful. Quite a large group seem to have made the trip. Thanks for the bandanna Pep, the pictures will be up soon on the E8 board

Good football game in A town.   Saxon D damn good esp the linebackers.  Too bad their offense was mediocre at best.  Their QB looked good at times but he was afraid to take a hit. Puzzling since he was bigger than most of the Mt. Defense.  Saxon's were well coached and was one of the best tackling teams I have seen this year. Mt. D outstanding again this game.  Worst first half I've seen for Neal.   But he got it together and moved the team when needed.  Sometimes I forget he is just a sophomore.   Perhaps  Bethel is a  much better team now than STU.  It would appear so.   GO RAIDERS!

hey mount friends.  i hope that we can ruin the purple stagg bowl this year.  total domination today against umhb.  i really hope for a rematch in the stagg.  skunks and thea, thanks for the congrats on the win.  skunks, it looks like the coaching has stepped it up so far this year, much different look to the team.

Mount Fans:

I vote in the ECAC's Lambert Poll, which is a regional poll for teams on the East coast.  Delaware Valley and Alfred are both eligible and I've never seen the Saxons play.  Based on what you saw today and last Saturday, which was better in your opinion?

Just looking for some insight on how to order them on my ballot.

It was mentioned a while back that if Mount goes deep in the playoffs it would be on the backs of the defense and today proved that. A very frustrating day for the offense. I sure would like to see more of Ryder though.

And a big "Thank You!" to Bethel for giving us one more game at home this year.

Congrats Purple Raider Defense...Offense looked befuddled in first half...

as an interesting aside...The Huffington Post found Ohio Northern as the sixth rated University in the nation to leave you in massive debt upon graduation..

Not sure I'll clarify anything. Very impressed with the toughness of the AU defense, though throughly disappointed in the other facets of the team. Del Val was tough across the board, but had no real bright spots. Tough choice. I'll throw my weigh behind Pep and his merry band, if not the football team

I'm not the "expert" some of our other posters are, but I'd say Alfred's defense was far superior.  The D line was good and the LB's were impressive.  As someone else mentioned they tackled very well.  Offensively I think Del Valley has a slight edge.

I'm very happy with Mount's D today, they were outstanding and kept us in the game when the O was struggling.  Credit some of the offensive problems to the Alfred defense and the rest to an off day for Seaman.

Thank you Bethel and welcome back to Alliance. It should be a good one next week.

The teams are similar, but I would give a slight edge to Alfred.  Their defense was better against the run than Del Valley's by a pretty good margin.  Solid D-line with 3 very good LB's behind them.  Neither DV or Alfred's offenses had a game changer on offense, but the Alfred O-line held there own better against the Mount pass rush than DV did.   Couldn't open any running lanes, but did a nice job in pass protection.

Wasn't impressed at all by the Alfred RB (Dwyer).  He looked very timid and unsure of himself.  Was expecting a lot more out of him based on the stats and all the talk.

QB Secky threw a pretty nice ball, but wasn't helped a whole lot by his receivers.  Only negative on Secky was his tendency to bail on a play with any pressure in his face.  Had a chance to hit some big plays if he would have stepped into his throws more.

If the two teams were to play, and played like they did against Mount, I'd favor Alfred by 3.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Sounds good.  Thanks, folks.
