Ooh, I wish! ;D  2-3 day forecasts have improved remarkably during my lifetime, but due to the almost infinite number of variables (and chaos theory), six day (or even 4-5 day) forecasts may never be more accurate than picking up the Farmers Almanac! :P

Unless Neal Seaman is healthy for Saturday, if Matt Piloto turns in a Stagg performance to match his semi, does anyone besides me have visions of Seaman being 'Pipped'? ;)

A weather forecast on Thursday might be worth discussion.  A weather report for SIX days out??!!  Reading chicken entrails might be more productive! ;D
Agreed.  Too early to predict the weather.  If next Sunday's forecast moves in quicker, it might hit 40 degrees and be partly sunny in Salem.  I NEVER make my picks until I know what the weather will be like.  (Oh-oh, I just gave away my only edge in pic-em's!)

Hey, current game time weather guess-tament from Weather Channel,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,36 and snow showers

70's you gotta quit looking at Salem, OHIO's weather forecast, ....its Salem, Va and that has;

42 degrees, MOST SUNNY  ;D

You got the WRONG Salem VA, that's the forecast for the one by Virginia Beach. There are FOUR Salem's in Virginia, Salem County, Culpepper County,Page County, Virginia Beach County. Since there is no airport in Salem, search Roanoke, there is only one of those

Why not just keep it simple and go to the National Weather Service site and search for Mount Union, Va.? Pretty much the same area as Salem. :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

You're a quick learner. Don't give up hope though, Mt is well coached and that should help them overcome some of the disadvantage of their schedule to this point.    ;D

Ditto on your weather and results prediction.  Not too sure how a Florida QB will throw in freezing, snowy game.  ???

Didn't we actually go play somebody like UW-Podunk Falls back at the beginning of the season?

bushman,

Gonna have to disagree with you right off the bat: I see UMU as the favorite.  The ONE 'soft spot' that UWW has is the secondary (as proven by both Ray and Watts).  How are they gonna stop Shorts, et. al.?  While I obviously do not have the football IQ (or UMU knowledge) of LK, I would hope they start Piloto (in which case I predict 3 TDs for Shorts alone).  (Though my junior high sense of humor would certainly miss "Seaman to Shorts"! :D)

IMO, the only hope for UWW is if their pass rush can totally intimidate whoever the UMU QB is (which is entirely possible).  NCC completely stuffed Coppage for 3 quarters (until too many short fields wore them down).  IF UMU can prevent takeaways (and UWW's success against NCC was takeaways, not turnovers), the defense should be able to stop (or at least adequately slow) UWW's rushing game.

Actually, there WAS.  The site went down in March of 2009, so it's available if anyone wants to pick it up.   ;)

The only hope?  Wow, that's a strong statement.

While UWW's pass defense has given up some yards and points in the air, they did so against very experienced SENIOR quarterbacks that were finalists for the Gagliardi.  While Mount has better receivers than Franklin & Trine, we're not starting an experienced QB like the other schools did.  Will the great receiving corps cover up the youth and inconsistencies at QB?  I hope so.

Very interested to see what LK chooses to do this Saturday at QB.  Seaman was the starter from day 1 and LK chose him for a reason.  Piloto has a live arm, but was 3rd string just a few weeks ago.  I have to believe they both were in their respective positions for a reason.  Does one good performance coming off the bench change an entire season of evaluation in practice?
