Hey, hey, don't let my wife hear about the only chance WW has or I'll be in Mogadore wrapping Christmas presents instead of sleeping in the lap of luxury at the Hotel Roanoke. (That's right Pat, you can run, buy you can't hide)

Word on campus is the Raider are deeply offended about never once being ranked umber one and they are coming for pay-back. Others were upset at WW stumpling through the North Region and then trying to act like it was SOOOO.

WW chance is: Don't  piss-off Driskill, Budzinski, Deusiel or Kershaw,,,EVER
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

bushman,

Gonna have to disagree with you right off the bat: I see UMU as the favorite.  The ONE 'soft spot' that UWW has is the secondary (as proven by both Ray and Watts).  How are they gonna stop Shorts, et. al.?  While I obviously do not have the football IQ (or UMU knowledge) of LK, I would hope they start Piloto (in which case I predict 3 TDs for Shorts alone).  (Though my junior high sense of humor would certainly miss "Seaman to Shorts"! :D)

IMO, the only hope for UWW is if their pass rush can totally intimidate whoever the UMU QB is (which is entirely possible).  NCC completely stuffed Coppage for 3 quarters (until too many short fields wore them down).  IF UMU can prevent takeaways (and UWW's success against NCC was takeaways, not turnovers), the defense should be able to stop (or at least adequately slow) UWW's rushing game.

The only hope?  Wow, that's a strong statement.

While UWW's pass defense has given up some yards and points in the air, they did so against very experienced SENIOR quarterbacks that were finalists for the Gagliardi.  While Mount has better receivers than Franklin & Trine, we're not starting an experienced QB like the other schools did.  Will the great receiving corps cover up the youth and inconsistencies at QB?  I hope so.

Very interested to see what LK chooses to do this Saturday at QB.  Seaman was the starter from day 1 and LK chose him for a reason.  Piloto has a live arm, but was 3rd string just a few weeks ago.  I have to believe they both were in their respective positions for a reason.  Does one good performance coming off the bench change an entire season of evaluation in practice?

Yeah, I went WAY over the top on the highlighted phrase! :-[ :P

But I DO stand my my point that [IMO] UMU is the favorite.  IF UMU can exploit the UWW secondary (and, unless UWW can totally harass the qb, I don't see why not), UMU should win going away.

Obviously you guys (and even more obviously, LK) know the situation better than I, but I can't help thinking that if Seaman can't go this week, and Piloto plays as well as against Bethel, Neal may have gotten Pipped.

For the love of God can we PLEASE get some new teams in the Stagg Bowl? Mount Union needs to not be in Division III anymore. You are an awesome program and I respect it very much, but this is very bad for the Stagg Bowl to continually have MU and Wisc-Whitewater in the game. Attendance will be down I am sure due to sheer boredom with this constant matchup.

Please Seventies. The Raiders don't play the Muskies this week.  Your post is completely bogus and you know it.  The Raiders respect UW-W.  And UW-W respects the Raiders.  They aren't deeply offended at UW-W being Number One all year because the Warhawks are undefeated and the defending national champion. None of them were "upset at WW stumpling..." and UW-W never acted like anything. All UW-W has done is show up each Saturday and played as hard as they could, just like the Raiders have.  The scores were different. The match-ups were different.  Maybe you don't appreciate they way UW-W wins.  The fact remains they "stumpled" through wins over two top 5 teams on the road.  Not enough to earn your respect, but enough to earn the respect of most.  ;)

You're probably right about attendance, which is sad.  Why would anyone be bored by watching two teams that represent the very best in their division?  Maybe you would prefer to see Wilmington and Hiram play.

And why pick on Mount Union - shouldn't Whitewater be out of DIII too?  "If you can't beat 'em, throw 'em out."  What a fine, positive, philosophy!

PS:  What does the love of God have to do with it?
12-0 = 13

OK, so who thought Matt Piloto would be the leading rusher yesterday

Ypsi-Is there a Chickenentrails.com?

Ooh, I wish! ;D  2-3 day forecasts have improved remarkably during my lifetime, but due to the almost infinite number of variables (and chaos theory), six day (or even 4-5 day) forecasts may never be more accurate than picking up the Farmers Almanac! :P

ohh we know how true that is, especially after last year's episode! :o  I wonder if Salem's Sewer dept has converted their trucks over to snow plows as they were attempting to do last minute last year.

Ironic the Pontiac has about 18 days left before GM kills it off!!  ;)  The last American-built Pontiac was produced Nov '09.

I feel like I say this every year.  What should Mount Union do...completely alter their academic and athletic philosophy simply because they have a really good football team?

If you're going to suggest Mount not be Division III (which never is said about Whitewater, despite the fact that their undergraduate enrollment is equal to that of a team that plays in the Big East, by the way), what is your alternative?  You want their women's swimming team to be D-2 just because of the football team?

I'm afraid your Div III question has been brought up a bazillion times and posted in the archives here forever. Take a comparison of all the other sports that UMU participates in, their records, student enrollment, etc. and i'm sure you'll re-evaluate that statement.  Bleedpurple says it best, do an e-blitz to the other 236 and things might change easier.

Ya know, Duke always does really well in the sport of Men's Basketball. I think they should just move to the NBA, because it isn't fair to the rest of the NCAA.

HS Coach has Mount as a 2.5 pt underdog which I think is about right. I see this as a very close game but would give the slight edge to UWW. They have been #1 all year long. It should be a great one again.

IMO, the key will be Mount's pass protection. If they can buy enough time to throw effectively then they will have a good shot at winning. If not, I don't think we can produce a sustained running attack against the UWW front 7.

[Of course,,,,,,wait for it,,,,,,,"Mount hasn't played anybody" ;) :D ;)

I don't think you'll hear that from any knowledgeable WARHAWK fan.  There was a time when I'm certain that you would have but that time has come and gone.  We've played UMU often enough now to know that it doesn't matter who they've played.  They are the gold standard.  It's a bit like the misperception that you get all of those OSU transfers.  At one time we thought it true but now we know better.
