If you're going to suggest Mount not be Division III (which never is said about Whitewater, despite the fact that their undergraduate enrollment is equal to that of a team that plays in the Big East, by the way), what is your alternative?  You want their women's swimming team to be D-2 just because of the football team?

No offense intended but have you been living under a rock?

One of the Madison Wisconsin newspapers recently did a tale of the tape between UW-Whitewater, Wisconsin, and their opponent in the Rose Bowl, TCU. Basically, UWW's enrollment is much larger than TCU's. I'll try to find the article when I can.

Was talking to someone in the East Stand Saturday when we got flagged for something dumb, and as deaf as I have become the words  "G&# Damn it" cracked above the din of the 3,000 present. It's like how you can always hear your father's voice in a crowd.

I'm not talking about the enrollment.  I know how many students we have.  I'm commenting on your comment that no one ever says WHITEWATER should be in DII.  If you haven't heard that a million times in the past you either don't read these boards much or you have been under a rock.  Given that you have over a thousand posts I assume you do, at least, read the north region regularly.

If enrollment is the defining statistic how is that Notre Dame and TCU can compete in DI against schools that have considerably larger enrollments?

Interesting Quote from the Ravenna Record Pub:

Quote"Matt came in and stayed poised and did a good job for us," said Mount Union head coach Larry Kehres. "He's gotten a lot of repetitions at practice and was well-prepared to go into the game."

Attendance will probably be much greater than if a surprise team made it on one weeks notice. At my house, and many other purple homes, the weekend before Christmas is a sacred time. We plan on this from year to year.

I know that sounds cocky, but having done it at the last minute once, never again. The Trinity-Mount Union game was a classic example. There were less than 600 fans who made the last minute trip from Texas.

The crowd from both Mount Union and Whitewater, while perhaps leveled off, is pretty consistent. And since the college enrollment changes every year, there are always a new bunch of students to come.

This has been talked about for years.   The reality is UWW is a public school and the UW System believes fimrly in the principles of DIII sports, meaning no scholarships.  The WIAC Conference fully endorses the principles of DIII sports as well.   Moving to DII will not happen.

Ooh, I wish! ;D  2-3 day forecasts have improved remarkably during my lifetime, but due to the almost infinite number of variables (and chaos theory), six day (or even 4-5 day) forecasts may never be more accurate than picking up the Farmers Almanac! :P

ohh we know how true that is, especially after last year's episode! :o  I wonder if Salem's Sewer dept has coverted their trucks over to snow plows as they were attempting to do last minute last year.

Don't forget the garbage trucks with plows on them!    :D
