With Toph and edward in here, it's getting a little bit too academic.

It's not the NCAC or NESCAC board, it's the OAC board.  ;)
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

WARNING:  DI Post upcoming...

Anyone else find it strange that the recent D1 Football Coach hirings have been done fairly quickly, without the normal interviewing of multiple candidates (especially Black candidates)?

Miami, Florida and even Northern Illinois seem to have skipped over the multiple interview stages.

I'm thinking that the Floyd Keith and the Black Coaches Association may have some issues with this.

Kent State's job remains open...with seemingly few candidates.  Ugh.  While many in and around Kent applaud Lang Kennedy's work as AD for the university's success in other sports (ranging from hoops to golf and everything in between), I lampoon him for the fact that the football team has been absolutely awful during his tenure.

I think the "tipping point" came in 1985 and 1986 when the Scott Woolf and Scott Gindesberger led Raiders played the ,then, invincible  Augustana  teams.  Woolf came within a slip in the snow of beating them and Gindle, despite not playing his best game, also nearly knocked them off.  It seems to me the coaches knew how close we were and our players began to believe it was going to happen. Then in 1991 came The Great Jim Ballard and most Raider fans knew he was going to win a National Championship before he was done.  I love Neal Seaman, but he really hurt his ankle and I will be shocked if he can play at all.  He would be my choice to start if he was healthy, and in bad weather. However, Piloto on honeydew hath fed,and drunk the milk of paradise.

"Weave a circle round him thrice. / And close your eyes with holy dread, / For he on honeydew hath fed, / And drunk the milk of Paradise."

Samuel Taylor Coleridge

And the last words of significance from one of the greatest movies.  I quote that movie a couple of times a week, although it's often to simply say, "I'm your huckleberry."

^  The only movie I quote daily is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.......

Or the WRMU announcers, who despite their youth, make the ESPNer's look like, well, high school announcers. Wait, I'm a high school announcer. (JV)

If Mount Union had you to work in a literature class between football practices you might recognize that passage.   ;D
