The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep.  (about 390)

"Bob" Frost

I'm a little more contemporary :D

The whole poetry/literature thing is lost on me.  The only thing better than numbers is:

Dennis to King Arthur: "Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you."

Well, HScoach, if that doesn't work, you can always just throw at them the following quote from the famed MGM version of "Mutiny on the Bounty" where Richard Harris (as Seaman John Mills) says to Marlon Brando (as First Mate Fletcher Christian and lead mutineer) when Brando suggests "for the good of all" they return to England to face charges of mutiny for the purpose of putting an end to Capt. Bligh for his mistreatments (actually Bligh was a Lieutenant and not a Capt. in rank in the true history of this story) and Mills says:

"Anyone who thinks so [______insert you own word/phrase here for any situation you are talking about above] hasn't got the sense that God gave geese"! ;D ??? ::) :o :)  That will really confuse them. :P  And now,...back to regular programming, ugh posting that is.

P.S. Does that put me iin the same category as seventies? ??? :)

Cap'n Bligh may have been a LT but the commanding officer of any ship is referred to as Captain regardless of rank.

"In the end we will survive rather than perish not because we accumulate comfort and luxury but because we accumulate wisdom"  Colonel Jack Jacobs US Army (Ret).

LK  coaching? not an issue(never was, or will be), agreed-he would be a sucess anywhere.... glee and playcallling? I am not on board....
just a thought for us new to  the machine-who DOES call the plays? Im sure the boss can(and I hope, if need be) over-ride if  situation is called for

Too bad.  LK over-rides when he thinks it is necessary, but that is probably the exception rather than the rule.  GLEE and PLAYCALLING are both +K for me!

UMUPlayerDad,
I am completely amazed that any parent would come out and openly criticize the coaching at Mount. Most parent are thrilled there kid is a part of something special, let me tell you as a past player it is something special. You get the chance to learn how to act and what to do from upper classmen, and experience football at an efficient and high level. Word of advice, sit back, relax, and let your kid and the rest of the Mount world enjoy what's going on. I can assure you the coaching staff is as good as it gets. People like you just don't get it; those coaches know more than any of us combined and want to win more than any of us. Anyone can second guess a coach, hind sight is 20/20. I know, I know, you used to film your sons high schools games and you would yell even before the play started that it was a bad call. You are an arm chair coach; all you're doing is giving the other kids on the team a chance to bag on your kid, because they all read this stuff.  Really, get over it. How bad can the coaching be, look at the numbers. It is as good as it gets, this is one of the youngest teams ever at Mount and they are playing for a National Championship, this group is over achieving and it is because of hard work, team work, and COACHING!!!!!.

Let me guess you're the kind of guy who would even complain about a night full of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a blowjob.

P.S. To the rest of the D3footballworld not all Mount fans act like this, most of us understand what it takes for Mount to be Mount.

+K--'nuff said.

Thea,
It appears we may have a bromance growing, maybe we could make a date of it lol, I'll bring the PBR to your place and we can watch some Glee and discuss how much we adore the Mount program.  ;D

Wow--things are really weird when we are spending an evening picking on each other rather than ragging on the opponent.

stuff happens when two-VERY- evenly matched teams play.....

btw, "who blinks" refers to the wisc o-line vs our d-line-as opposed to umu wide-outs-vs the wisc d-backs------  i'll bet that is
brought up in keys to the game segment

ugh-glee watching is a good thing? explains a LOT though

oh, and since you have semi-stalked to the point of wife thing? read a a bit more history, - of course a second guess
is always right

seventies:  I can try, can't I? ??? :D

Mr. Ypsi:  Your mid-evening sandwich break will be even worse!  See what happens when you step-away for even a few minutes?  All "C____ or H___" breaks out in here!! ;D :o :P

knightstalker: You, indeed, are correct.

To all:  This is great - perhaps one of the best "banter" sessions in the pre-Stagg Bowl week days that has been had here in years.  I've been laughing all evening while reading.  See what all of your DIII educations have brought you?!!!  Anyway, thanks for an enlightening time.  + k for all of you. :)

I do need to land on the side of the Glee haters. I'd rather watch Two and Half Men reruns or Friday Night Lights on Tivo.

It's been fun. I don't think Pat will be upset if we fight among ourselves.

Formerd3db: I can't argue with you. This has been the most exciting the board has been for a while. However I will continue to stick to my guns about the whole Glee thing and the fact that UMUdad needs to lay off the booze lol... but I do relate, sadly enough, I have a family member who has an alcohol problem and I know they don't mean what they say under the influence.  :D

PS I do LOVE  two and a half men. now that's funny.

From LS100 to Bromance, doesn't get any better than that, and to think I lived down the street from you while in college and we never realised how much we had in common until now.  ;)

uh, it seems that mid-ohio footballl is more tolerant(pbr AND glee?) and-wtf is bromance? is a bit less hardcore than I first assumed-and still no one actually named a play-caller-not that I blame them..... and whille we are at it? what happened during a stagg bowl that  banished an assistant to the booth-again, we ARE on the same side(not a pink team guy) I'd like to know the real storiies

and yes, your "charlie sheen" influence was very obvious

Thanks for the article...wonder what he does as far as player development--talent is huge--but the connection he has with his players is huge

Never knew that Kent State had offered him...interesting!  ;D

Larry actually accepted the Kent State Head Coach job, but after sleeping on it reversed his decision the next morning.
