Formerd3db: I can't argue with you. This has been the most exciting the board has been for a while. However I will continue to stick to my guns about the whole Glee thing and the fact that UMUdad needs to lay off the booze lol... but I do relate, sadly enough, I have a family member who has an alcohol problem and I know they don't mean what they say under the influence.  :D

PS I do LOVE  two and a half men. now that's funny.

sure, I'm OFTEN sorry and don't mean what I say, ok, you do have a chance with  the stand up comic circuit, I take THAT comment back.....

Thanks for the article...wonder what he does as far as player development--talent is huge--but the connection he has with his players is huge

Never knew that Kent State had offered him...interesting!  ;D

Larry actually accepted the Kent State Head Coach job, but after sleeping on it reversed his decision the next morning.

now THAT was  not funny, cracking stones on half a fa@? that's funny, LK leaving?  not so much......

Gentleman.......boys......ladies.....countrymen..........crazy drunks.......

One thing I have learned in this great "internet age", is it sure brings out the best, and more times worst from all its participants.  As a long time poster/reader/antagonizer/LK honk on this site, I have basically seen it all.

UMUD........tomorrow is another day........so live to shout to the heavens if that is as you choose.  I am the most brilliant coach I know (just ask me), and I have stopped questioning play calls Mount makes on offense.  Although, I have to admit I do question as to why we don't throw it to Kyle more often.  However, I think that is more a QB decision, than a play call.

Coach Bruney calls the plays, with strong guidance from LK.  In serious situations (oh wait....like maybe the STAGG BOWL), LK has been known to have a heavier hand.  Rest easy player  parental unit, all will be good in Raider land.

Go forth....be happy......write more checks for your son's college education.....and know he is getting an experience of a lifetime.  It's all good my man!   ;)

Half a fa@? I am going to assume you meant fag. I can promise you that I am confortable enough with my own sexuality that I can have a bromance and still be happily married. lol  :D

Enough of the banter lol, either way enjoy the fact that your son is part of something great, and quit being so bitter about everything.  :-*

at least you spelled it right    :D   -btw my complaints re-play calling have mostly to do with the "run at all costs" mindset.... last 3 playoff games have had 4-5 players flying in--- filling a 3 gap hole, I HOPE that was to set up saturday's game, if that is the case, I willl apologize profusely to the obviously longer term minded play caller that I doubted-and, bitter isn't quite the proper term

and, yes, I have been wrong before, but usually?    nostra-F'ng-damus

My head hurts after reading the last 3 pages  ???

Anyway, I know the referees have been pretty disappointing in the past few Stagg Bowls. Does anyone think this stems from these guys ref'ing for Regular Season and Playoff games and are used to a certain level of play/talent/speed? When they get to the Stagg Bowl (especially the last 5) they are a bit surprised and overwhelmed by the talent and speed of MUC/UWW?

I don't want to come across smug or arrogant, but these two teams, in this specific championship contest, is something head and shoulders above any other game these referees see during the Regular Season or even Playoffs.

On serious note: My son is a serious fan of Coach Vince, I mean he holds Larry in  absolute awe, but Vince is his buddy. I hate to think of my son at River Falls. The drives to Alliance and Tiffin are bad enough.

We had NCAC refs last week, and the week before last.  They are worst, most dispicable, most ridiculous, most hated, most grudge-carrying officials that exist.  The NCAA should be embarassed, and it's almost laughable how all the people that sit around us immediately KNOW after a really bad call that it's those "losers from the NCAC".

Get over it guys......you were fired for reason.   ::)

You know who officiated the Time Stood Still game? (Bridgewater/Rowan 2001.)

NCAC.

good luck, you'll need it-apertif? So YOU are having the glee party?

ok, which one of you donny trumps would bet on the bowl game? again in my defense, coaching at UMU is  beyond
reproach-no question..... play-calling? I'm not so sure, and I've been around for 29 games now

This comment is funny to me.

I would say that the Mount coaching staff is pretty much beyond reproach when it comes to any and all pregame, in game, and postgame decisions including playcalling.  You've been around for 29 games.  Kehres has been around for a little while longer, and has managed to amass a record of 303-22-3.  If a 92% win percentage over 25 years doesn't earn him the benefit of the doubt, I'm not sure what does.

Am I saying that the perfect play is called every time?  Of course not, but if you're going to complain about a guy who puts up those kind of win totals, I'd hate to see what you think of John Wooden, after all, he only managed to win 80% of his games.  Slacker.

If you've got a problem with the playcalling, just send LK up to JCU.  We'll take him.

Mount Union has been known in the past to get very vanilla in their play calling during the playoffs, once a game is in hand.  For obvious reasons, you don't want to show too much prior to the big game.

I've also seen them do it in the Stagg Bowl in the first half and then pull something different out after half time.

It's not that uncommon for them to be "vanilla" in the regular season as well.  When games are in control, there's no need to run every play in the book.  Running wears down the clock and keeps the other team from staging much of a comeback or even opening up a bigger lead.

When Piloto went in on Saturday, it didn't sound like the Raiders were simply running the ball straight up the middle.  They were throwing it and it took some time for everyone to get settled down again.

Why not be "boring" if you win?  Style points don't get you anything extra in DIII.  Here, wins are all that count, not the way you win like in DI.

The Raiders will have many looks on offense depending on who the QB will be. No much said on the status of Neal Seaman (for obvious reasons), but will we see alot of Matt Piloto. :)

Didn't watch last weekends game on the internet, but I did listen to HSCoach and Ric on my iPhone while at a wrestling meet.

Sounded like when Piloto first went in, they tried to get the run game going to get him acclimated to the game.  It also sounded like once he started throwing the ball, there were some drops by the WRs.
