skunks, say it isnt so.  well, you will be missed and who is bringing the christmas ale?  seriously though, i will miss seeing you and chatting about mount and how this game plays out.  should be a good one.  line of scrimmage is the key as it is in most games when 2 teams seem to be even.  major difference in the wesley game was that uww d line dominated wesley's o line and their o line kept wesley's from taking over.  can mount handle both?  cant wait to find out.

Are you going to The Stagg Bowl this weekend or cheering on your alma mater at home in front of your big, flat panel TV? ??? :)

On serious note: My son is a serious fan of Coach Vince, I mean he holds Larry in  absolute awe, but Vince is his buddy. I hate to think of my son at River Falls. The drives to Alliance and Tiffin are bad enough.

If Vince leaves it will because of a disenchantment with Giese and expect Larry to follow.

Rumors come and go, if you want another: The Kent State Job is still open and expected to make an announcement within 10 days.

Larry is 62 and accomplished everything and more in his family and professional life. If he retired soon, I'd shake his hand and thank him for what he has done for Mount and tell him to go finish his Doctorate, the one regret I'm privileged to know of. If he continued to coach anywhere but Mount Union, I'd be surprised but not very.

I see him staying AD and passing on the team at some point. He has done his job with football, he has built up women's sports and nows to build mens BB, and baseball before he goes. Track will have a new coach within weeks and is in good hands.

I stand here totally proud to have known him and the family all these years no matter what time brings.

Pre-Game laundry underway. Looking for a middle thirties day much like last Saturday or honestly a little more like the Alfred game.

Be careful driving if your on the road tomorrow. S/B kinda snowy icy in the mountains.

A little melancholy tonight thinking of the Staggs with Raider66 (my brother) Rowan, Lycoming, Rowan, St Johns, Bridgewater, and Trinity: a game that would be our last major road trip.

Also thinking about the two long winning streaks

I now have four WW-Mount Staggs with Kevin since Dick died and this will make # 11 (12 if you count the Stagg Bowl Heidelberg was in 40 years ago in Alabama. Part of me says, this is it. Since I fully believe were in for #11, but looking at this team, we're a good shot for 12 and 13 as well.

Maybe I better start looking for a time share on Christainburg Mountain

after reading the past few pages of banter, at least we can all agree that at least 70's or UMUdad especially, havent made a video like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUKd0Gg7254

Also I dont know if anyone saw the LK interview on STO with Bruce Drenenn.  It was a typical, host knows little about D3 interview, but LK called Seaman's injury "significant."  Who knows what that means, but I'm stoked to see a Piloto/Cecil combo at QB....talk about stretching the field both ways

and to skunks sidekick, the multi beer bong never made it back to alliance after that stagg bowl.  I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions, but some UWW people filled their losing feeling by taking that back to canada with them

First time I've heard that theory.  I thought Dr. Giese was supportive of the athletic department???  Although it probably must be difficult to be the President of a Small University and not be the person with the most power on campus.

Who is bringing the cheese curds for the Whitewater folks?  And how many pounds of cheese curds does it take to feed 5,000 Wisconsinites?

blutarsky, as the parent of a son currently in afghanistan, god bless your son and may he give you and the family the strength to deal with the deployment.  it is nice knowing that he will be with the best fighting force in the world and will come home safe.

Thanks, and Godspeed to your son.  The irony is that our oldest son (West Point, Infantry, Ranger) just returned from Baghdad on December 8th.....one comes home, another leaves.

These posts, and their inherent humor, help tremendously as a distraction.  :)

Go Raiders........and, what's up with the Miami Univ. coach going to Pitt after just two seasons in Oxford??  It's tough to be a mid-major.

Same thing with Jerry Kill leaving NIU after 3 seasons to go to Minnesota.  When the opportunity comes to make that kind of Bank, these coaches gotta take it.  Its a way to set their families up for life.  It's too bad for the Mid Major Schools.

NIU's AD said it best:  I'd rather be a launching pad for coaches than a graveyard...

Formerd3db,

We will be watching at home (mini- Stagg Bowl party). Unfortunately we cannot make it Salem, love to have seen the game in person, but will follow Ric and Mark on the audio and watch ESPNU. Hope you watch it.

GO RAIDERS, BRING IT HOME THIS YEAR! :)

Off topic here for a second......

As lifelong Indians fan, I was saddened to see Bob Feller passed away. Bob Feller embodied everything that was right about baseball. He was a true hero in every sense of the word and will be sadly missed. He was an amazing man, patriot and ambassador for the game of baseball.

I'm with ya Shark. Bob Feller loved the game and loved Cleveland. Met him on a couple of occasions. Nice man.

OK Ypsi, we're two days out and it's snowing heavily in Roanoke at this hour, calling for 2-6 inches turning to freezing rain tonight, nice tomorrow with snow showers and 36 on Saturday.

I don't have the wrong Salem, because I checked the webcam on top of Virginia Tech Lane Stadium and the snow that wasn't there yesterday is definitely there today.

Makes no real difference in the game, just want folks who are driving in to know

I'm thinking I'll leave the speedo at home 8-)
