I've got everything packed and in the car and the GPS is programmed for Texas Street.  All I need now is a good night's sleep, some coffee and breakfast in the morning, and I'm out the door and heading north!

Let's roll, Raiders!!!

i know i dont have a clue, but what i saw last week was a very average offense that looked to protect the qb and run the football.  can mount stop the run, if so then they have a great chance of winning.  can they stop the pass rush enough to allow whomever qbs to throw the ball, if so they win.  if mounts defense is as good as has been stated then uww has trouble making 20 unless mount turns the ball over.  i think mounts wins, 17 - 14.  this has the makings of a good game and if tonight is any indicator, it will be cold at game time.  plus the pre tailgate tailgate was a lot of fun.  see you in the morning.

I believe Mount's D can stop the run if they are not on the field too long.  I believe Mount's O line can pass protect.  The question in my mind is can Mount's O line provide enough running room to keep Whitewater's D honest.  If Mount can run they win.  If not, Whitewater prevails.  Mount must open up the run game by stretching the field with the long ball to keep WW from packing the "box."  If they can do this the Raiders win.  If not, we'll do it next year.
12-0 = 13

Raider 68

I recall a few Stagg Bowls where the other team was bigger, stronger and their O line was great and could really run the ball. The Raiders were not supposed to give them a game. That team was Rowan and the Raiders beat them twice and K.C. Keeler (Delaware now).

We will see if the Mount defense and stop/control UWW's running game. UWW has to stop Mount's aerial game, not sure which the easier of the two. :)

And yet, that "average" offense  beat the #1 ranked defense with ease (thanks to a great performance by the UWW defense). W'dad, all they had to do was run the ball because Wesley wasn't able to stop them...that's what UWW does - they tell you they are going to run and if you can't stop that, they will continue to run. But then, watch out for the play action...have you forgotten, Brekke was 16-19 in the passing department, as well.  Wesley couldn't really stop that either!!  ;) Forget the rankings, I expect Mount's defense to be heads and shoulders over that of Wesley, probably as good or better than NCC. There have been great defenses on display before in the previous 5 Purple Bowl games, but it seems the offense will always find a way to score. The score tomorrow will resemble the previous Stagg Bowl meetings. Hoping for a great game in front of a great crowd.

My bad.  I have a bad habit of only thinking of Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax as Northern VA.

:D  +k A72 ... a lot of people do.  But only the rich Yankees are funneled into AAF.  Us regular folks go to Manassas (which looks a bit like Alliance!).

I've been to Manassas and it doesn't look like Alliance!  LOL

Salem looks more like Alliance  >:(

Make sure he pays up.  I need the credits for dinner tomorrow night.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

My thoughts go out to everyone riding a bus to the game in the morning. I think I'll have housekeeping turn down my bed.  ;)

Yikes, the all-mighty Sports Channel  mentioned the Stagg Bowl with a little video.

Wesleydad December 6th post:
"i have seen plenty of football the past 7 years since my son started going to wesley and i have not seen a defense this good.  big, strong, and fast.  they stop the run, put pressure on the qb with little blizting and can cover.  they are plain and simple tough to score on. "

The best offensive line in the country.  The best running back in the country.  The 10th ranked offense in the country.

Average. Uh huh.  ;)

Perhaps Wd meant "A great offense that looked to protect the qb and run the football because that's all they needed to do against the best defense I have seen in seven years."   ;D

Fascinating how you jump between fact and opinion in the same sentence if it serves your purpose.
