Yikes, the all-mighty Sports Channel  mentioned the Stagg Bowl with a little video.

The local news promised a feature too, and then I dozed through it. We'll be looking for you and Kevin tomorrow, Seventies. Glad you made it this year.

Whoever missed the alumni reception at the Sheraton missed some exceptionally great food this year . Really well-done. Selfushly sad to learn MuCaw's a senior. We'll miss his breed of bird.

Last year we listened to GPS and spent a year on the winding mountain "shortcut"

GPS and maps tend not to see mountains-I77 to Route 460 to I81 is 390 miles from Akron. And there are NO shortcuts.

My young associate and I will be in the lot by Noon

The best offensive line in the country.  The best running back in the country.  The 10th ranked offense in the country.

Fascinating how you jump between fact and opinion in the same sentence if it serves your purpose.

Fascinating how you comment on literary style when you can't find anything substantive to disagree with.  ;)

Hey, hey, don't let my wife hear about the only chance WW has or I'll be in Mogadore wrapping Christmas presents instead of sleeping in the lap of luxury at the Hotel Roanoke. (That's right Pat, you can run, buy you can't hide)

Word on campus is the Raider are deeply offended about never once being ranked umber one and they are coming for pay-back. Others were upset at WW stumpling through the North Region and then trying to act like it was SOOOO.

WW chance is: Don't  piss-off Driskill, Budzinski, Deusiel or Kershaw,,,EVER

I suppose I could go with the "I'm hen pecked", to false rumor, to idle threat, genre.  But then again, we all have our own styles.  ;D

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Assume it is the LG and LT. The back-ups have the size (6'3", 315, 6'5",290) but boy their first start in the Championship game as Soph's, Wow! :-\

The Raider's now have even a greater challenge, can they do it?

Best of luck to both teams, just a little more to mine.  Hoping for a great, injury free game and safe travels to all. God bless the D-3 football community where a TRUE National Champion is decided  on the field! I'm off to Whitewater to watch the game with some very special Ex-Warhawks!

Raider68:

Those are some big boys.  I have a question for you.  How is it that Mount is able to recruit players that size for their line.  On occasion, teams like Hope and Alma have had some larger sized linemen, although that is rare.  I recall one year back in the early-mid 1990's, Alma's starting line on both offense and defense average about 275 lbs, however, the problem was they didn't have that "over the top" talent at the specialty positions to match that year (and in other years, it has been the other way around).  Anyway, I was curious as to why such great sized linemen don't end up at or at least "get a look from the DI and DII schools out your way, but instead seem to end up at Mount, which is great for your alma mater.  I also recall the year that Mount beat Bridgewater in The Stagg Bowl, that Mounts starting offense and defensive line averaged 305 lbs and that was only 2 lbs less than Ohio States's lines that year which averaged 307 lbs.  And Mount's guys were not slow!  Just curious as to your and your colleagues thoughts on this recruiting aspect.

BTW, I'm getting ready to watch the NCAA DII football championship which starts in about 1/2 hour (Delta State vs. Minnesota-Duluth; then, of course The Stagg Bowl at 3:30 PM, then the other FCS semi-final tonight between Delaware and Georgia Southern.  Eastern Washington beat defending FCS national champion Villanova last night 41-31 on the former's really eye-blinding red synthertic turf!  And I thought Boise State's blue turf was wild!

Aw crap! I'm watching the Villanova game now and did such a great job of avoiding the score -- thought this forum was safe.   :'(

Oh well, that means I won't miss the beginning of the D2 game.   ;D

All of you there in Salem, and those of you watching from home, have a GREAT time watching the game today.  Two evenly matched teams that both have proven time and time and time and time and time and time again that they belong there.  It's pretty cool.

My prediction.......Mount runs the single wing, and pulls one of their 10 TB's out of the woodpile, and out POUNDS THE ROCK UWW.  They don't throw the ball at all today.   ;D ;D 8-)
